A beautiful town to visit on the Italian Riviera. If you go there, I recommend two particular attractions to include in your list. The first is a the small church right in the center of the old town. there is no cost to enter, and the church has been better restored than any other I've seen in all of Europe!... More

A nice day visit which is just 2 hours by train from Milano. The piazza next to the ferry station is good, and panoramic view are great. In summer, a great place to head for beach. Mostly pebble beach, but if you are interested for sand beach, take bus 82, to Paraggi beach. Nice and hot place :)

Clean, conveniently located hotel. Room was small but very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Limited street parking for those with a car. Very short walk to waterfront, restaurants and train station. Be sure to visit Simonetti near the waterfront just across from the park for the best gelato that I had in Italy.

This bustling tourist stop has comfortable beaches for just sitting and reading, as well as a range of restaurants and activities.

Visited in late March and the crowds were low. A good city to relax and absorb the culture. It gets quiet after 7PM

This was the base for our tour group for two nights while we went to Cinque Terre and Portofino. The location was great and we probably would have liked to have spent more time here - except we had dreadful accommodation. The natural beauty of the town shone through during our walks - particularly by the water.

I loved the little streets, plenty of choices for food and the ability to catch the train to the Cinque Terre.

Very nice resort with aristocratic atmosphere and great sea-walk area overlooking the marina with boats and yachts. Perfect embarkation point for one day to Portofino, one in Cinque Terre and one in Genova. Geographically Santa Margherita is on the west coast and you expect to see Sunsets, yet my hotel was situated on the bay and I surprisingly enjoyed the... More

On a lark, we took the ferry from Portofino for an afternoon visit. Life in this city seems to revolve around its two seaside squares. The Baroque church is it's most visited attraction located in a pedestrian only area where there are lots of restaurants and shopping. This would be a convenient, not so "chic", base for visiting the Cinque... More
