The most wonderful setting for a wedding. Set on the top of a hill over-looking the ocean. We were spellbound by its beauty.

A slight walk up above the harbour front of SML is this hidden treasure. I went on a day that the villa was closed but enjoyed the glorious gardens and villa architecture all the same. I would love to go back and explore further.

A walk along a treelined path took us up to the villa, which was built in 1678, with frescoes, trompe-l'oeil, stucco work and chandeliers. We visited the park on Christmas Day - it was open, but the villa itself was closed, but as we approached the main entrance, the door opened and we were welcomed inside to look around the... More

This stunning complex consisting of Villa Durazzo, Villa San Giacomo, Villa Nido, picturesque gardens and the elegant Chiesa di San Giacomo offers a panoramic view of the harbour. The grounds have seating and various vantage points for a leisurely afternoon surrounded by beautiful foliage in these wonderful gardens. Villa Durazzo was closed to put in a new floor this day... I have twice given parties for over 170 people here (our own 25th wedding anniversary and our daughter's wedding). After our first event, both Rod Stewart (grand) and Wayne Rooney (oh dear!) gave parties for their own weddings.

Was lucky enough to have been invited to a family wedding here. The church is just outstanding, it is so well kept and decorative. The walk up to it is a bit of a trek, but it is so well worth the time (or get a taxi). The grounds and gardens next to it are just stunning. The views you... More

The church is stunning inside and the walk in the gardens of the villa has stunning views. Well worth the 1-2 hours.

On our last day in Santa Margherita, our family of four took a stroll up to Villa Durazzo. We enjoyed the setting, the views, and the lush landscape (it was especially nice on a hot day). We happened to go on a day that the buildings, cafe, etc. were closed but enjoyed our visit nonetheless.

What a charming place, we just happened to stumble apon it when we were walking through the surrounding gardens. The Villa is at the top of the hill separating the two sides of Santa Margherita Ligure. The vill is no longer a residence and is used for functions. We were provided with a english guide map of the Villa and... More
