Visiting this place is to come to a place with tranquility, peace, closer to heaven and in the middle of nature far away from the busy and noisy city. We plan during our next visit to stay a couple of nights enjoying the silence and peace.

We took the easy option and rode the cable car up to this spot. Walked up to the church (service in progress) then walked around the back and down the path to have a coffee shop with the most amazing views. Later on my trip I found someone who said they had lunch there and it was good. The church... More

while it takes a bit of effort to get to this beautiful little church, it is well worth it. one can either go via funicular or by foot (2 hrs or so walk) or any combination of the two. once at the top of the mountain, the church is there, along with a bar, restaurant, and even a little hotel.

This santuary can be reached by cable car or on foot, but the hike is not for everyone and could take up to two hours. However, once there the view if breathtaking and the silence is wonderful. And, the little church is well worth a visit.

This was a terrific day, the views from the cable car and at the top are breathtaking, we went on a less clear day, the atmosphere was astonishing, mists and shafts of bright sunlight breaking through, revealing the town below, it is easy to imagine being the youngster who believed he saw a vision of Mary while up there on... What a great way to spend an Easter morning. Take the cable car p, and enjoy this incredible part of the Rapallo history. Be sure to check out the many memorial photos and paintings on the walls of the ships and crew lost at sea.

The cable car ride up to the church area is spectacular! The view of the Rapallo harbor and the Ligurian sea was lovely, as was the church. There is a really pretty path to the restaurant, where we enjoyed more great views as we had a glass of wine.

It is well worth the time to ride the funuvia up the mountain for a spectacular view of the bay. Stay for a snack and a drink and visit to the church. Very peaceful, not crowded.

Great views from cable car - interesting chapel at Montallegro - interesting woodland walks with spectacular outlooks over of Bay of Tigullio and surrounds, from the cafe stopping points.
