The wonderful holy sanctuary and a magnificent and stunning view of the Rapallo ocean. How did the people ever get to such height to build the church? Amazing!!!! A must visit to Rapallo!!!!!

Set off back and decided to go for lunch at the restaurant just before the lift. The view from the balcony was breath taking, the... More

The ride up to the church in the cable car was spectacular. A lovely church. We then walked around to the restaurant and had a glass of wine looking out to the harbour. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful area, unfortunately the late afternoon when we went was raining and very misty when we got up there, however it is well worth a look whatever the weather.

You will be rewarded with fantastic little spots were you can look at the view and perhaps rest if you feel you need to. When you get to the top... More

We didn't go into the sanctuary so it may not be fair to comment. We didn't feel like paying to go into 'another church'.

one the highlights of our trip was taking the cable car up the mountain (a short walk from the hotel) to the Church on top of the mountain. The cable ride up the mountain offers a magnificent view of Rapallo, its bay and the Mediterranean. The Church is stunningly beautiful, and we lucked out when we got to the Church... More

This sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna of Montallegro, patron saint of Rapallo since 1739, houses a small painting over the main alter which was given as a gift to a Ligurian farmer on July 2nd 1557 when he had a sighting and met the Virgin Mary on a trail near to the site of where the sanctuary is now built.... This church is at the to of the mountain and is a fair walk up a slope once you leave the cable car. Very ornate inside.
