I spent an afternoon exploring this mountain top. Yes, the church is wonderful but small as far as Italian churches go but yet there was a deep reverence within the church and surrounding grounds. Maybe I hit it right and avoided the crowds or maybe it just isn't the typical tourist trap overrun by busloads of picture takers, T-shirt vendors,... More

For 8E per adult this trip is very good value. Try and get near the harbour end of the cable car for the best views back over Rapallo and take photos during the first half of the trip. There are good views of the more expensive houses in Rapallo. The trip takes 10 mins and departs every half hour but... More

The views from the Church are stunning. The church itself is worth seeing. Bus timings are different during " festa" days in July. Its fund to get up to the church by bus or the cable car and go back with the other. There are a couple restaurants at the top but the view from the one that is to... More

The trees were so full of leaf in June it was difficult to see the views. There is a small shop on the left hand side of the church selling religious icons, water bottles and guide books. In the church the grotto is in the left hand chapel. Before you go into the church sit down and look at all... More

The trip up on the cable car is wonderful the views are astounding. The church has a lovely feel to it and feels that it is at the heart of its community.

Good to travel on the Cable car up the mountain with views over Rapallo. Our Lady appeared here in the the 16th century and left behind an icon and a water spring.

We visited in November when the Funivia (cable car) was closed for the month. So we took the bus up (about 20 minutes, very curvy road but interesting to see the vineyards, groves, and farmhouses in the hills). The sanctuary was indeed beautiful and peaceful. The view was lovely though there was haze that day. We were in pretty good... More

The cable car up to Santuario di Motallegro is small but runs regularly and was sufficient for the small number of visitors on the day we went to the church. It was quite easy to find the starting point and we were treated to some good views on the way up. The church itself was quite interesting but the real... More
