The cable car ride up to the church area is spectacular! The view of the Rapallo harbor and the Ligurian sea was lovely, as was the church. There is a really pretty path to the restaurant, where we enjoyed more great views as we had a glass of wine.

It is well worth the time to ride the funuvia up the mountain for a spectacular view of the bay. Stay for a snack and a drink and visit to the church. Very peaceful, not crowded.

Great views from cable car - interesting chapel at Montallegro - interesting woodland walks with spectacular outlooks over of Bay of Tigullio and surrounds, from the cafe stopping points.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montallegro is a magnificent building with every surface inside covered with paintings. Situated more than 600 metres above Rapallo, it is well worth the scenic funicular trip to see it.

Worth the time to go....an interesting story about the icon and the cathedral. Pick a bright loudness day if possible. Pellegrino's Restaurant behind is an experience, but very expensive for what you get.

This is a must see. The cable car ride affords you of a beautiful view of the Liguria coast. Once you reach the top the views are spectacular. We went up late in the afternoon and had the sanctuary to ourselves. Take the time to visit. You won't be disappointed.

I advise to visit to Basillica Montallegro.it take approximately two-three hours. Fantastic views of Liguria cost!

Loved the peacefulness of the Santuario and the walk near it. The view from the top was beautiful. Visited Rapallo a few years ago and was not aware of this glorious place. Well worth the visit.

The cable car or funicular goes from Rapallo up to near the top of the mountain behind the town .The church of Monteallagro is up some steps from there & well worth the climb. As there are only a few people around it is nice to soak up the atmosphere in the church & admire the windows ,paintings & statues I... I spent an afternoon exploring this mountain top. Yes, the church is wonderful but small as far as Italian churches go but yet there was a deep reverence within the church and surrounding grounds. Maybe I hit it right and avoided the crowds or maybe it just isn't the typical tourist trap overrun by busloads of picture takers, T-shirt vendors,... More
