I was in Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre) for my birthday, which happened to fall on the first day of their Lemon Festival. This was our third trip to Monterosso, but our first time to Cantina du Sciacchetrà. I really have nothing more to add about the friendliness and outgoing personality of Lorenzo that hasn't already been stated in previous... More

We were looking for a friendly and welcoming place to purchase some local wines and liqueurs and were getting frustrated with unhelpful shop owners...that is when we happened to walk into Lorenzo's Cantina du Sciacchetra and met the most friendly, funny, entertaining, welcoming and informative man in all,of Monterosso! Lorenzo, you are amazing! Lorenzo was very happy to allow us... More

We stumbled across this place because I wanted to buy a large ceramic bowl which was out the front. When we went inside we met such a nice, funny, intriguing man behind the counter who was already entertaining a couple of other tourists. We all got talking and he let us sample local wines, limoncello and pesto. We spent almost... More

This is a fabulous place to sample the various tastes of Italy's liqueurs, pesto, and marmalades for free while enjoying Lorenzo's, the owner, company. The small shop is packed with a huge variety of different items which are perfect for souvenirs or just bottles to share while touring. But the reason to return is Lorenzo. Smart and funny, he regaled... More

We purchased souvenirs from this store in 2009 & returned again a few weeks ago to re-stock our supply of melone and strawberry liquers and to purchase souvenirs for friends. The store has changed hands but retains all of the charm that the old one did. The owner, Lorenzo, was very friendly and service-oriented. He offered up samples and I... More

Wide selection of products, you can get free tastings of wine and local liqueurs. Owners speak English and many locals stop by just for a chat and a glass of wine.

The owner is so friendly and funny! You have to visit him. We wandered in here after walking the streets of Monterosso for a while; just to take a glance at what was being sold/offered here. The owner immediately struck up conversation and started us on a tasting spree of his delicious limoncello varieties! Between 'shots' of his homemade limoncello,... More

We walked in here after a long day of hiking, ferries and the beach. we ended up hanging here for about an hour. Lorenzo is a great salesman. He lets you try EVERYTHING. Food, liquor, anything you want. Smart business guy. No one walks out empty handed. Local products made in Italy, so that was a good thing. We bought... More

Claudia the lady who works in this shop is fantastic. We walked in just to browse and her enthuasiasm ensured we stayed for a glass of the local wine and the sciacchetra which was lovely. The shop is beautiful and full of really good quality products. We bought a few homemade products like the artichoke creme and black olive pesto... More

We came to Monterosso on our honeymoon. Like several others on Trip Advisor, we had booked a room in advance, shown up, and found a note to call the host. After a lot of back and forth (and a huge cell phone bill), the owner showed up, and was no help at all - she told us that Booking.com (who... More
