Unfortunately the path Via Dell Amore was still closed in September 2014. But the pretty view, many bars and restaurants made everything okay. We would liked to take a hike there, but unfortunately I had some backpain troubles so that was not an option for now. The many paths there are also very liem, that was though enough!

Visited the area today (Sept 10, 2014) and confirmed that the trail from Riomaggiore and Manarola as well as the trail between Manarola and Corniglia are both closed indefinitely. It is difficult to see on the English version of the park's website, but is clear on the Italian version: http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_dett.asp?id_lingue=1&id_prodotto=44 http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_dett.asp?id_lingue=1&id_prodotto=46 Most other trails were open and accessible.

When I visited the official site today (Aug. 20, 2014), it said the path was reopened. I am so lucky as I will visit there this October. Even though this isn't a review, I would like to share the good news.

It WILL reopen someday and when it does make sure to find time for a stroll. On a sunny day it is fantastic. At sunset it is a forever memory. It's a one mile paved path along the rocky coast. Take your sweetie for a leisurely walk. We have walked it several times, but not in our recent visit, as... More

We had hoped that the trail would have opened by the time we visited June 10 and had been following the various online postings. Unfortunately at least as of June 10 the trail was closed.

Via dell'Amore We were disappointed to find this walk/path closed on our visit to Riomaggiore in May 2014. It happens quite a lot due to parts of the path becoming unsafe.

The Via dell'Amore was closed when we visited in September 2013, but they are lots of great trails higher up that offer even a better view. Verify with the Cinque Terre National Park for a map to higher trails with amazing views. It will be worth your time!

I see the bad reviews of all the disappointed people. Fortunately for my wife and I we were there in a lower season where there weren't as many people. Had a great time doing the walk , didnt have a lock, but got our picture taken at the end with a kiss with eachother. The scenery is beautiful really anywhere... More

We were here in May 2012, and what a woeful disappointment. You read about Via Dell Amore before you go - oh the romance, the beautiful path, the wonderful sights, the setting sun, the love locks, and so on. And then you get there and experience it. We found a crushing mass of people, with no opportunity for a romantic... More
