Proximity of the sea and beautiful park around it. Lots of history and incredible array of furniture and other antique pieces in the castle. Highly recommended for everyone

Miramare Castle was built in the second part of the 19th century. Around this castle there is a nice park.

Large area, lots of walking, great to visit. Use local bus 6 and it dropped us off at the dock by the museum entrance. The castle is a Victorian style, well furnished and easily visited. The grounds are worth a walk through. Several hours are needed but well worth the time.

This castle was once the home to an Austrian prince and it reflects both Italian and Austrian influences in its history. The gardens are simply beautiful and are a perfect place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the panoramic vista.

I was not so keen to get into the castle and just enjoy the gardens but my wife bought the tickets and we got in. And what a great decision that was. Don't miss it. Built by Ferdinand Maximilian, brother of the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph, the lower floor has amazing wooden designed rooms. The upper floor is dedicated to... More

I would recommend you walk to get to the castle. The view while walking is really great. Then, at the castle, take the time to walk around the property, there's many nice pictures to be taken there.

It is a really nice castle, big and impressive but they abandoned it. The gardens do not have any plants, flowers, trees...there is not any coffee shop up there as it used be few years ago and generally you feel that no one cares about this castle any more!

We arrived at opening, before the crowds; via the city bus (end of the line) It is absolutely one of the most amazing castles imaginable. Maximilian did everything right; from the fountain inside, to the wood carvings and chandeliers. Every room told a story.... The setting is incredible; huge park around the castle.

If you come to Trieste you need to visit the Miramare Castle. It's a beautiful castle in a very good state of preservation. I recommend to visit in the afternoon and enjoy the twilight from its balconies, it's an amazing view. You need to pay if you want to go in, they use to organize some visits with guides.

The disgraceful manner in which the historical beauties of this country are maintained reaches new peaks at the beautiful residence of Archduke Maximilian, where the castle is poorly cleaned and maintained in such a way to allow water infiltrations, windows are getting destroyed by the elements and the whole thing sits on a wall showing dangerous signs of fatigue. The... More
