With the local 48 hrs tourist card we were able to visit the castle for free, so we did. And oh boy, glad we did! The castle is very nice, so is the garden and the little bay nearby. We had a fantastic time there, it is recommended to visit !

Totally worth visiting. I prefer the nature around it but the castle itself is also great. The park around is full of green life and plants variety. Maybe it's a great place to be during spring season.

This castle/museum is fascinating to tour. Ferdinand Maximilian of the Hapsburg family, was the younger brother of the Emperor of Austria, Franz Joseph. He had Miramare Castle built for his lovely wife, Charlotte of Belgium. Their story is sad, as he was asked by the French (Napoleon III) to establish a monarchy in Mexico. Certainly recommend this place if you are on budget holiday and wish to spend quality time enjoying picturesque setting of the castle and the sea. The garden is free of charge and you only need to pay if you want to see the castle inside. There seemed to be some free off road parking available nearby but if you wish... More
