This gentle place held some lovely energy in what I saw....The Roman bath was unique to see in Ravenna. The Duomo beside this structure complements each other in a visit.

Small with huge marble baptismal font in the centre. Wonderful, richly decorated ceiling mosaic of Baptism of Christ. Love the interpretation of being immersed in water ... and the dove.

Named after Bishop Neon, the mosaics here are gorgeous. Try to avoid the tour groups as they allow only a limited number inside at a time to preserve the mosaics.

By the time we got to the Neonian baptistery we'd seen many of Ravenna's other sights. By comparison this is perhaps one of the less overwhelming experiences: but that's not really saying very much. A beautiful and fascinating building, with marvellous mosaicry.

This is another wonderful place in Ravenna. There is a ticket that allows you to visit multiple sites and it is well worth the few extra euros.

I must be a bit of a heretic, as I preferred the Arian Baptistery. Nevertheless it is well worth seeing and as it is included in the 5 venue all-inclusive ticket it is worth the visit.

Rich, colourful mosaics are a feast for the eyes. You'll gaze so long at the glorious ceiling that you will get a stiff neck. It's a kaleidoscope of colour. Gorgeous.

Ravenna equals mosaics and they are so impressive in all the places! One never ceases to wonder at the quality and the richness of the works and never tires of visiting again and again.

Next to the Galla Placidia Mausoleum, this is my favorite Ravenna mosaics in the Roman tradition. Built in late 4th/early 5th century, this beauty has 5 things to watch for: 1. this is the oldest monument in town. 2. the original floor is now 3 meters below street level so a new floor was built during Renaissance. 3. 19 century... Small, beautifully decorated baptistry. Such craftsmanship cannot be found today. Well worth the entry fee.
