Not everyone will think this is special but my husband and I who have visited Jewish museums around the world found this very informative. We spent two hours going over the exhibit and felt it was worth while. No one was there and it felt strangely as if we were visiting a house with no one home. The security is... More

This museum is located in what was once the ghetto area of Bologna - and is almost the only sign of the centuries of Jewish life in the city prior to the expulsion of 1593. Without the museum, there would be virtually no trace of the once-thriving community, which once received Jews escaping from the Rhineland or expelled from Spain.... More

We visited the Museo Ebraico during our walk through the ghetto area. At 4 euros each, the museo was well worth it, detailing the plight of the jews in Bologna and worldwide. With headphones provided, the story is told first in Italian, then English. A very interesting visit, which was moving at times but well worth the time spent there.

We were in Bologna on a national holiday so everything was shut. We had been to the Jewish Museum and on a tour of the Ghetto in Rome where we learned that in Bologna too the Jews were put into Ghettos, so when we arrived at our hotel we got instructions on how to get there. It was one of... More

This is a small museum with not many artifacts but a lot of well-presented information about the history of the community in Bologna and the wider history of Jews in Europe. They are good photos, maps and text but I agree the headphones are not very easy to use, although we were given willing help and it was worth doing.... More

The museum provides a very good information on the history of jews, judaism and especially local jewish community. Headphones poor, rest is fine.

The Museo Ebraico is one of the lesser known museums of Bologna, hidden away in the former ghetto. The easiest way to get there is to walk down Via Zamboni from the Due Torri (Two Towers), then after 100 metres turn left when you get to the Renaissance palazzo that houses the Best Western Hotel San Donato, walk under the...
