Did the Pizza Course on the 7th of October. Amazing varieties, not only the dough but also the toppings. My favorite was the Pear with Gorgonzola, almond shavings and white pepper. Valeria and Barbara are very friendly and professional chefs and always in for a laugh ! Had an excellent time and would like to visit them again ! Keep... More

This was the second cooking class we went to in Bologna and it did not disappoint. We're in the clean professional kitchen of Valeria and Barbara and they took turns teaching us four different dishes. There was another couple cooking (and eating!) with us that day. All recipes used fresh ingredients - no cans / frozen nothing at all. We... More

We were staying in Ravenna and took the train into Bologna. So well worth it. My husband and twin 16 old sons joined two other American woman for the class. We were there for over 5 hours cooking from scratch to the dinner table. It was not so detailed as to look the interest of my sons, and very interactive.... More

My family of four, two adults and two teens, booked an afternoon class with Valeria and Barbara. It was wonderful! Valeria and Barbara welcome you into their amazing kitchen and share all of their most heartfelt tips and tricks for making the perfect pasta dish. We made two kinds of pasta and a delicious potato gnocchi, as well as sauces... More

I did the cooking class with Valerie. It was so much fun. She was very well prepared, and explained the process vey clearly. I learned to make tagliatelle, tortelloni and gnocchi from flour, and we cooked together their respective sauces. Valerie's passion for food was very inspiring, and her stories very interesting. All the dishes we cooked together were so... More

We just returned from Italy, which included three days in Bologna. The cooking class at Il Salotto di Penelope was one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip. My husband had never taken a cooking class before and does only limited cooking at home, while I have taken other classes and cook more frequently at home. The level of... More

- If you come to Bologna, then I would say it is mandatory to try a pasta cooking school. You will then enjoy the homemade pasta, even better at the local restaurants. You will also savor the view of fresh pasta at all the food stores in the alleys, near the central square called Piazza Maggiore. This experience would be... More

My husband and I had been looking for a cooking school in Bologna. We had not made reservations ahead of time. Our hotel told us about this school. They fit us in to a small class the next day. It was a great experience. Valerie and Barbara are knowledgable and fun. They kitchen was professional and meticulous. We went to... More

The class that we attended was fun! Barbara and Valeria put us to work after showing us the correct way to make our Italian feast! Couldn't think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning in Bologna. And a real personally made meal and wine to follow!

We have done other cooking courses and this was by far the best one! We were in a small group (9 people) from different parts of the world, so Valeria and Barbara (the chefs) did the class in english. I don't cook at all, and I could understand everything perfectly and cook everything too. Everybody had the chance to cook... More
