On my husband's 40th birthday we took a cooking course with the lovely Valeria and barbara. Not many can teach and very few can do it with an amazing patience, laughter and enthusiasm as those two magnificent women. We arrived with our 8 months old son, so they thought it would be better for us to have a private course... More

One of my favorite things to do when I'm traveling is take a cooking class so I can learn how to make some of the local dishes. When I got to Bologna and started looking into options I learned that many of the offerings were more focused on techniques rather than local recipes, which wasn't what I was looking for.... More

I booked my husband and I on this course for his birthday, and it was the highlight of our trip to Bologna. I had read of it in an article in The Times, and was not disappointed. Barbara and Valeria were great company and showed us how to make pasta from scratch (not so difficult, though they made it look... More

You can marvel at the sights/sites by all means but for "foodies" this is a must! My partner and I are both enthusiastic cooks, and we thought we knew a bit about Italian cooking too. Wrong! But we discovered this in a soft and delightful way, thanks to Valeria e Barbara. If I wrote it all, it would take too... More

We had this as a Christmas present - and very much enjoyed our morning (and delicious lunch) with Barbara & Valerie. We learnt how to make three dishes Gnocchi, tortellini and tagliatelle with three sauces to accompany them. The pace was just right, we learnt many other things along the way and it was a fabulous relaxed atmosphere. We have... More

I gave this to my wife as a christmas present. She loves pasta and it was a great chance for her to learn how to make three different pastas from scratch and learn how to make the accompanying sauces. We were there for about 3 hours or so and Valerie and Barbara (the teachers) were wonderful. The food we made... More

The ladies at Il Salotto di Penelope were great! My dad and I enjoyed their class and learned a lot. The class was one of the highlights of our trip. I would highly recommend the course.

We are a family of Foodies so this pasta making course was a must. The instructors were fabulous! They were great working with my girls ages 13, 10 & 9. We learned how to make gnocchi, tortelloni and deliciously simple sauces to accompany them. After preparing the pastas, we got to sit down to enjoy our work. My mouth is... More

Did the Pizza Course on the 7th of October. Amazing varieties, not only the dough but also the toppings. My favorite was the Pear with Gorgonzola, almond shavings and white pepper. Valeria and Barbara are very friendly and professional chefs and always in for a laugh ! Had an excellent time and would like to visit them again ! Keep... More

This was the second cooking class we went to in Bologna and it did not disappoint. We're in the clean professional kitchen of Valeria and Barbara and they took turns teaching us four different dishes. There was another couple cooking (and eating!) with us that day. All recipes used fresh ingredients - no cans / frozen nothing at all. We... More
