What a worth while and fun experience. Carmelita communicated timely and professionally before and after our time together. We met at the market in Bologna where she welcomed us with open arms, taking us around to the best market shops to find the freshest foods, all with an explanation of why the foods were the best. She was so kind... More

My friend and I went to Bologna as we wanted to learn how to make pasta from the people that know it best and we were not disappointed. Carmelita was an excellent teacher. She was patient and took the time to explain things to us. It was my first time making fresh pasta (my friend's second attempt) and both of... More

What we wanted was a cooking class, to understand how to make Italian flavours and pasta of course. What we got was so much more!! Carmelita took the time to understand what we wanted and customised the menu just for us. We walked the markets picking the freshest ingredients all the time learning about the origins of Bologna food and... More

Our cooking class with Carmelita was the highlight of our visit to Bologna – a treat for lovers of good food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Our class began with a shopping tour of the local markets and fine food purveyors for our recipe ingredients. Along the way, we were also treated to samples of handcrafted chocolates, enjoyed a tasting... More

Carmelita Caruana is delightful. The morning tour of the 1000 year old Mercato di Mezzi was worth the cost of the day. It is a walking history lesson about Bologna, about the food, and about the shops ... a real vacation highlight. Cooking with Carmelita is fun, relaxing, and informative. The lunch that we prepared together was delicious. Highly recommended!... More
