Since 1999 Market-to-Table day class plus shorter classes, 3 night courses. Only last week of May vacancies left, and summer, September and October filling fast. Home cooking in a home kitchen making updated, well plated, traditional home cooked Italian in very small groups at a very central location. Beginners, experienced home cooks, professional chefs, families with children all welcome! I do my utmost to give you a memorable day and a great culinary experience and teach all the classes personally. And if you or your travelling partner/s don't fancy cooking, I offer a morning market food tour ending in a light lunch to introduce you to Bologna, its history and its food. And an unusual evening tour too, just ask!

Our cooking class with Carmelita was the highlight of our visit to Bologna, and possibly the entirety of our Italy trip! My boyfriend and I loved walking through the market with Carmelita as she explained the quality of produce, meat, cheeses, balsamic, as well as the overall history of the region. We are big foodies and she did not disappoint.... More

Cooking with Carmelita is a great way to learn about the wonderful food Bologna markets have to offer. It was a great way to start the day and experience a part of the city in a colorful and unique way. Once we had our ingredients we proceeded to her kitchen where Carmelita instructed us skillfully in the art of pasta... More

This is a course for the serious home cook. It is a very hands on experience. We were a group of 6 adults on a Sunday and were glad that Carmelita could accommodate us. She picked us up from our hotel and we walked over to her apartment nearby. The instruction takes place in her kitchen and it was fun... More
