My husband, daughter and I visited Bologna in November 2009 and had a wonderful time. We had the most fabulous food and were anxious to learn how to make some of the local specialties. We contacted Maribel Agullo of Taste of Italy and had a delightful time. We made three pasta dishes from scratch, along with the appropriate sauces, then... more

We spent most of the day with Maribel Agullo, and it was wonderful. She took us to the food shops near the Piazza Maggiore to buy the ingredients, and then she taught us to make hand rolled pasta - no machines here! She was patient and thorough, and the price was very reasonable (be sure to pay the extra for... more

Maribel is probably the best food guide you could get in Bologna - truly passionate about food but with her feet firmly on Earth. Our group of 2 and her spent some 45 minutes in the market buying ingredients and discussing living in Bologna. A short walk took us to a beautiful apartment with a kitchen that saw us make... more

The cooking class I took from Maribel of Taste of Italy was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Emilia Romagna. I chose the class on the traditional Bolognese pastas in the hope that I could learn how to make these dishes at home. The class took place in an apartment near the city center in Bologna. Maribel... more

My wife and I booked an evening class with Maribel of Taste Of Italy in Bologna. We asked for a class that was centered around the use of Aceto Balsalmico. The class was held in a very nice, spacious kitchen in a residence that was owned by her relative and was 5 minutes from the city center by cab. (Maybe... more

Out of all the places, sites and wonderful cities we visited in Italy, our pasta making day was truly the highlight of our entire two week trip. The relaxed atmosphere, great company and new skills we aquired will be in our memories for years to come. We would recommend this experience to all who plan to tour Italy. We hope... more

My partner, desperate to live with the only French man who does not cook, got me a day course at "Taste of Italy" for my birthday in 2007. I must say that I was stunned to see how much you can learn in one day and most importantly, how easy everything becomes in the kitchen when it is explained properly... more

Maribel's Taste of Italy is decidedly one of the BEST things you could do on an Italian holiday. Not only do you learn to cook the most traditional of Italian dishes, you also get to revel in the relaxing atmosphere of the Emilia-Romagna kitchen. My experience with Taste of Italy was making hand-made Italian pasta with the expert Teresa. Teresa... more

From the moment I entered Maribel's home for my private cooking lesson to the end when we hugged goodbye, I felt that we had a wonderful connection. We made tagliatelle and 4 different ragu's-all were delicious (our favorite is the Bolognese ragu- I make it at home quite often). We then sat together and ate all of it for lunch... more

We very much enjoyed our day of pastamaking through Taste of Italy. Everything about the experience was special, from the short train ride to a place in the country, to the delightful setting, to the sfolina (pastamaker) who exuberantly encouraged our efforts. Maribel Agullo, of Taste of Italy, was a gracious and helpful hostess, as well. Our excursion will remain... more
