We arrived at the Vatican City with only an overpriced entrance ticket supplied by a local city sightseeing tour bus company. We asked for some directions outside and were pleased to meet a young lady who was working for What a Life Tours. She advised us that our entrance ticket was only going to get us inside and then would... More

James was an incredibly knowledgeable tour guide with a witty sense of humour and an engaging style. His information delivery was fast paced which suited the nature of the tour perfectly – there was no way we were going to get through all the highlights without speed. Regardless, I we did not feel rushed, if anything we were more eagerly... More

We found this tour from other recommendations and weren't disappointed. We have 2 kids, 10 and 9,and they both were fully engaged for the whole 3.5hours. This is a sign of a great tour! It was a small group which made travelling around the Vatican easy and personal. I couldn't recommend this tour highly enough fir someone visiting Rome.

I booked the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's tour after reading great reviews for What a Life Tours on Trip Advisor. The tour and our guide Carl did not disappoint. In fact, they exceeded our expectations. The early start got us in to a relatively empty museum and Carl headed our small group right to the Raphael Rooms instead of... More

So in italy, I had the best and worst tours ever. This one by Angelo from what a life tours was my best one. He wanted to give us an 'unforgettable' tour and I think he has achieved it! The tour of the Vatican museum was the favourite part of my italian trip mainly due to his tour guiding. So... More

Our guide today was Grant, he was really knowledgable, delivered a vast amount of information to the group, about Rome the Vatican and history. He did this with style and personality for over 3hours I was somewhat sceptical about paying for this but I have to say it was worth it in so many ways, but still expensive and not... More

I booked a semi-private tour of the Vatican and St. Peters online before my holiday and I am very happy to write in praise of What a Life Tours and our guide, Carlotta. She exhibited wit, charm, enthusiasm, great knowledge and humour as she guided us through. We were so pleased that our money had been well spent and we gained... More

Guiliano is a fantastic guide. His passion and knowledge made this such a worthwhile tour. If you do nothing else in Rome, take this tour. You will have a private viewing of the Sistine Chapel. We started at the Sistine Chapel and worked our back to the beginning of the Vatican. When you return to the chapel it is so... More

We did the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica Tour with What a Life Tours. Marcello was our guide. He was full of knowledge and his english was great! He got us into the Sistine Chapel before the crowds (we did the early morning tour). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome.

We were attracted to this tour because it offered the opportunity to start before the Vatican's general opening time. While that had some benefit, the real value was learning about the Vatican's history and art from our guide Marcello. His command of the subject and engaging stories brought the facilities and art to life. A great way to see this... More
