We went here with a tour. There is so much to see, and everything has symbolism and historical significance-it's very interesting but difficult to digest at one time. Definitely climb to the top, and then go out onto the roof. more

If ever there was a place that needs a few more chairs.... This church is huge! They could label the way to the cupola a little better. It's hard to find. The big crowd on the right is looking at Michelangelo's Pieta. The altar is unlike any you've seen. The pictures on the walls are not paintings- they're mosaics. more

If you are in Sistine Chapel, head out to the “right” door to go to St Peter’s. You can go into the Pope’s Tombs and it was interesting and takes about 10 minutes.
