On our first trip to Rome ten years ago, we utilized RomeWalks for excellent tours of the Vatican and ancient Rome. For this trip, we wanted to delve a little deeper into the art work found in the not as touristy churches so chose the "Off the Beaten Track" option. Our tour, For Art's Sake, was led by Janet who... This was our first evening in Rome and we could not have experienced a better introduction to the city. Our guide, Richie, brought the monuments and streets to life with a mixture of historical detail explaining the development of Roman architecture and culture, and numerous anecdotes revealing the quirkiness of some of Rome's most prevalent architects. The two hours seem... More

I went to Rome last March and enjoyed two tours: the Rome Walks and the Colosseum Underground tour. The good reviews on tripadvisor leaded us to that decision. Both of these tours were expertly conducted by guides who were very passionate about the tour and their city. We would highly recommend the tours. I don’t want to spoil it too... More

This is my first time in Rome. We booked two tours with Rome Walks. Both were terrific. The Vatican was with Simone. He was knowledgeable and fun. His grasp of history was wonderful. Though he had a set speech, he was able to answer questions about modern day life here. Maria Rosario took us through the Coliseum and Palentino Hills.... More

We booked two Rome Walks tours -- the Palatine Hill/Forum/Colosseum tour and the Vatican Museum/St Peter's tour. Both were excellent, with very small groups (only 3 of us total for Forum/Colosseum and 4 of us total for Vatican). As an added bonus, we got to skip the (very long) lines at the entrance to each venue. We were fortunate enough... More

Peter and Paul Tour This could have been a very negative review but due to the efforts of the contacts and guide turns out to be a very positive one. We had booked our other tours of the Vatican and Colosseum though the actual web sites (very good tours) but wanted something a bit different (church art, archaeology and history)... More

This was a guided walk which included the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. Our very knowledgeable guide was excellent and the headsets meant you could hear her all the time even when some way from her. The 'jump the queue' saved a lot of hanging around. I would recommend this walk.
