We took two organised tours with City Breaks (Dark Rome), Vatican City and Colosseum and both were amazing and informative. The two guides we had, Julia for the Vatican and Patricia for the Colosseum were fantastic! The breadth of knowledge that they had for their area was amazing and really bought to life these two beautiful sights. Both spoke great... More

Rome is not the type of city I would try to get around alone, even though I travel quite a bit. There is simply too much to do! So I was glad we had City Wonder guides for everything we did. And we did a lot! Having a guide, skip the line entrance and a planned route at the bigger... More

When booking this trip we decided to opt for the early morning tour. We arrived early and found the location easily, instructions and maps provided by company are very useful. We were then introduced to Marta our guide. Well what can I say I was so impressed with her knowledge and passion for history, having a history degree myself it... More

Elisabetta was wonderful on the Colosseum tour. She was knowledgeable and friendly. The meeting point was not extremely easy to find, but they dd wait for us even though we were a few minutes late. I recommend this tour.

The directions we were sent were good and the meeting place was pretty easy to find. Our tour guide was an archaeologist and so she was full of interesting historical facts both about the building and its previous uses. The Colosseum was absolutely breath-taking and I am so glad we did the tour as it meant we could go underground... More

What a brilliant tour of 'Dark Rome' - our guide was informative, enthusiastic and whilst on coach would give interesting insites to other sites we passed - she called it an 'advertising break'. Well worth the money because you learnt so much. The Capuchin Monk church worth a visit - see their name and think of how Capucchino derived!! Loved... More

Two tours today, coliseum & ancient Rome and Rome highlights walking tours. Both guides (Franchesca and GG) were knowledgeable and entertaining, full of interesting, meaty, funny and saucy facts. The quality of this companies tours is very impressive, only wish I had booked more, but not enough time this trip. Will definitely do the Vatican and the Catacombs with them... More

Ghost and Mystery Walking Tour of Rome and Ancient Rome and Colosseum HalfDay Walking Tour. I would recommend both tours. Both tour guides were brilliant, made both tours very enjoyable. Would recommend. The story telling on the ghost tour was interesting as you would not hear about these stories from the normal tours.

This tour group was recommended by two unrelated friends of mine. We were so glad that we joined their Colosseum and Vatican tours. Not only did we beat the lines and the crowds, but our tour guides were total professionals -- very knowledgeable about the subject matter (and we were particularly interested in Roman history), upbeat and energetic throughout, organized,... Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
