We booked the tour Colosseum and Ancient Rome and when we arrived at the meeting point we were already told that our tour only includes the Colosseum instead of both. The tour guide was very hard to understand and was very badly organized. He did not have the correct tickets with him when we wanted to enter the Colosseum and... More

I used Carrani to do a night tour of the Colosseum. It was a wonderful experience, well informed guide and we saw what we wanted to see. Then I used Carrani to do tour of the Castelli Romana and I was a little disappointed that we were not allowed to stop at some of the places. The tour leader hurried... More

We booked a tour of ancient rome. Everything seemed unorganized and since this was our first time in rome I'm not sure we saw everything that was "included" in the package. We went to the colosseum which was great, from there to the Forum which also was great. It said we were supposed to go on the palatine hill, which... More

We did the tour of the Sistine Chapel & The Vatican today. Daniello was our guide. He is a fountain of knowledge. We were all English speakers. English is not Daniello's first language, yet he was very entertaining. He has a great sense of humour while maintaining respect for the venue.

We used this company as our hotel booked our tours for us. We did a combined tour of the Vatican & Colosseum (3&2 on their website) and we also did a fu day trip to Pompeii. Both tours were fantastic! A little chaotic at times but that is to be expected when you have a number of people going on... More

No stars for this sham of a hop on hop off bus service....very lucky to get on a bus...if if course, a bus turns up. Reps are good to reel you in, but once you've paid your money, they are rude and not interested. When making a complaint outside one of their stops....we had waited for a bus for over... More

We got picked up at our hotel which was great because I don't think we could have found it at that time of the morning. I was a little bit disappointed with the driving through view of Naples I thought would've got out and walked around in Naples. However we drove through and carried on to Pompeii. Lunch which was... I imagined if I want to go to Vatican and Sistine Chapel there will be a long line, it will be expensive, and I will be lost. Turned out you can book Vatican tickets online for cheap, the line to Sistine Chapel is shorter than you expect, and an audio guide will do the trick. This tour though was 60... More

Thanks for picking me up at the hotel. Bit of a mix up on the name, but it got cleared up. The guide/announcer on the bus, Mario, was very knowledgeable and funny. Fabio at Pompeii was also good. Even though it was rainy and cloudy - we couldn't see the summit of Mt Vesuvius - it was a good tour.... More

This was the company recommended by our hotel and they made the bookings on our behalf, with a cash deposit in advance. In short, they couldn't organise a party in a brewery. Disorganised and group sizes were too large. The first tour we did was an afternoon tour of the colosseum and ancient ruins. We made our own way to... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
