We did a day trip from Rome to Venice. It was a little disappointing that it was not a strictly English speaking tour. The guide would say something in English and then repeat in Spanish. Therefore, there was a lot of wasted time on instructions. We felt that too much time was spent trying to get information for the guide... More

We booked our tour to Pompeii with a drive by in Naples through Flight Centre in Australia with no expectations, we just wanted to see Pompeii the easiest way possible. On the morning of our tour we were picked up by I Love Roma Tours & taken to the information & bookings office to sort out our tickets. We then... More

we thought picking about five of the big sights would be great at night and also we paid extra to do the meal. When we made the reservation they said they would pick you up from a hotel nearby and we never got a email even on the day so walked the 40mins to meet at there offices. The guide... More

This trip was not exactly as presented, so I ended up purchasing a tour in Florence that duplicated what they provided for us and left us missing some attractions. Additionally, the trip to Pisa was at a different time and meeting place than represented and given the experience with the tour the first day, thank goodness we were persistent in... More

This tour was the best deal of our week in Rome.... It started with our coach bus tour guide Francesca who gave us a running history of Naples and surrounding areas on the ride to Naples and then to Pompeii. Although we did not actually receive a 2 hour walking tour of Naples as described, we did not miss it..... More

We booked the tour Colosseum and Ancient Rome and when we arrived at the meeting point we were already told that our tour only includes the Colosseum instead of both. The tour guide was very hard to understand and was very badly organized. He did not have the correct tickets with him when we wanted to enter the Colosseum and... More

I used Carrani to do a night tour of the Colosseum. It was a wonderful experience, well informed guide and we saw what we wanted to see. Then I used Carrani to do tour of the Castelli Romana and I was a little disappointed that we were not allowed to stop at some of the places. The tour leader hurried... More

We booked a tour of ancient rome. Everything seemed unorganized and since this was our first time in rome I'm not sure we saw everything that was "included" in the package. We went to the colosseum which was great, from there to the Forum which also was great. It said we were supposed to go on the palatine hill, which... More

We did the tour of the Sistine Chapel & The Vatican today. Daniello was our guide. He is a fountain of knowledge. We were all English speakers. English is not Daniello's first language, yet he was very entertaining. He has a great sense of humour while maintaining respect for the venue.

We used this company as our hotel booked our tours for us. We did a combined tour of the Vatican & Colosseum (3&2 on their website) and we also did a fu day trip to Pompeii. Both tours were fantastic! A little chaotic at times but that is to be expected when you have a number of people going on... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
