I had already been on a tour of Rome and with the promise of being taken to places lesser known or visited, I took Giovanni's tour too. Without telling him where I had already been, he delivered just that. He is very knowledgeable, his english is outstanding and he's definitely good company. Our tour stayed in Rome, but when I... Hello Tabi, and thank you for your really kind review, which is our 60th! Thanks to this review we won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and I'm glad that such a good feedback came from someone who, after a couple of tours, became definitely more than a client: something closer to a friend! I'm glad you appreciated the fact that... More

sab73 The first day landing in Rome was special thanks to Giovanni. He was so pleasant and informative. He even took the time to stop and let us take pictures of beautiful places. He told us some places to go and things to see. The drive from Rome to Florence seemed to take minutes. It was such a fun ride... More

Thanks to Giovanni, our driver, and so much more! We had 3 adults and 3 small children going from Rome airport to the center of Florence. He was on time, enthusiastic, patient and so informative. We made several fun stops along the way, and he delivered us right to our hotel door. Excellent job.

We spent three wonderful days touring with Giovanni. The first day we spent at the Colosseum, forum and St. Clements; the next at the Vatican; and the third traveling to Tivoli to see Villa d'Este and Hadrian's Villa. Giovanni, the principal of Roads to Rome Tours has eight years of University education majoring in archeology, so he has a tremendous... More

We booked a transfer from Rome Ciampino airport to our hotel in Florence through Giovanni's partner, Sergio (Scenic Wine Tours in Tuscany). Both Giovanni and Sergio were amazingly prompt and helpful with booking over email. Giovanni was waiting for us at the airport, helped all 6 of us (3 adults and 3 children under the age of 5) with loading... More

I have now been on two tours with Giovanni - the first to the Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and the Colloseum and the second to Ostia Antica. Giovanni is a hugely knowledgeable guide and so passionate about history and archeology that you cannot help but share in his enthusiasm. Everything you see with him comes to life in a way... More

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Ostia Antica Tour with Giovanni, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic archeologist.. I would like to say how impressed me and my friends were, with Giovanni and the tour. It was magnificent! Ostia Antica is an amazing place and the manner in which Giovanni shows you such archaeological site is first-class! Thank you to Giovanni... More

Thank you very much for your review, Max, and I'm glad that you appreciated how much more you can enjoy a tour with a guide, mostly in a place like Ostia. I wish that the next time you'll get a tour from us you'll get a Tivoli tour at Hadrian's Villa. If you like ruins, that's definitely the place to... More

My boyfriend and I are so happy we chose Giovanni to guide us through The Forum, Palentine Hill, and the Colosseum. He speaks perfect English, showed up on time, and had a knowledge of the ruins that surpassed my expectations. My boyfriend being an Architect thoroughly enjoyed Giovanni's vast knowledge of not just the history but the construction of the... More

Hello, I'm glad you liked the tour so much. I also enjoyed talking with you about ancient architecture, which is probably the branch of archaeology that I like the most, and it's pretty unusual to find customers that like it as much as I do...I hope to have the chance to take you to Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli the next... My wife and I spent 3 days in one of the most amazing places in the world. What made this visit so wonderful was that we had a personal guide Giovanni V. who is a combination of an Indiana Jones and a college professor…how can you beat this? We planned our trip prior to landing, with the help of Roads... More

Hello Don, Your review is really flattering. No need to say that I love to be compared to Indiana Jones, which is of course the reason why I decided to become an archaeologist. But the tour guide's life is not less adventurous, mostly during the high season, and you need all the skills of Indiana to find your way in... More

Finding a private guide in Rome is like trying to figure out what the best gelato flavor is when there are hundreds to choose from. Luckily weeks of research lead me to Giovanni. After exchanging a few e-mails, Giovanni came up with a wonderful plan for 3 full day's of touring in and around Rome. We started with a day... More

Hello Leora, you review is definitely too flattering. You forgot to mention, though, that if the tours were so good it was also because I had very interested customers that had literally studied before the tours and were ready to have a challenging and insightful conversation about all the most important topics. I truly enjoyed giving you all the tours... More
