If you’re interested in seeing the Appian Way, we have two suggestions for you: take an organized tour and don’t use Archeobus. There are many interesting things to see on the Appian Way, but it’s extremely poorly organized for tourists. This site is absolutely spectacular if you have the time. It's like transporting yourself back in time! It's hard to get around unless you take the bus or a bike on a sunday when no cars are allowed, but the archeological sites here are truly breathtaking! more

The slaves, lead by non other than Spartacus, revolted against Rome and slavery. When Rome won back control over those who revolted they crucified them on Via Appia (Appian Way) on the way back to Rome. It's sad to know that many people were crucified along this beautiful road.
