Even with all the grand sights to see in Rome this place will stand out in your memory. Unlike anything else you've seen, the interior is clad in monk's bones and skulls. Not as creepy as you'd think but definitely remarkable. Might be a bit hard to find, it's kind of in an unexpected area of town inside a church.... More

This place is fascinating and creepy. See it. They only ask for one euro. Make sure you read the message at the end. It makes one think. You can't take photos here. More

This crypt is amazing and creepy at the same time. They tell an amazing story with bones and even though you can't take pictures, the images I saw that day are burned into my brain. This is a very small crypt and only takes a few minutes to go through, but it's well worth it. Even though you can't take... More

Must see! Its eerie. It took me forever to find. For some reason I was expecting the enterance to be ground level (like a cemetary). But its not - you have to go up stairs. Its part of the church. Bring some change with you for the donation fee. You cant take pictures - just buy a postcard More

The way the Cappuchins had arranged the bones are amazing, almost to the point of chilling. A must see. More

This is a very unusual and macabre crypt, with alter pieces, ornaments and even light shades made from the bones and complete skeletons of hundreds and hundreds of monks. There's a sign on the wall that cheers you up too, it says "We were once like you...you will soon be like us". Gruesome but fascinating. It's half way up the... More

This place is incredible and is an absolute must see. It is a very sacred place so no photographs whatsoever. It is also a donation entrance of suggested 1 euro. However, if like me you are a generous type and give them five euros, they will give you some post cards with images from the crypt which includes information. Do... More

This sight in Via Vittorio Veneto is really special. The monks arranged the bones of their dead brothers like art on the walls and into the chambers in which the crypt is divided. There were full skeletons standing into the chambers and some of them were partly mummified. I personally really did realize my own mortality in there and I... More

Definitely not on my top 10 list!! Very morbid to think someone took the time to arrange these bones of thousands of corpses! Not an attraction for kids although I saw some go through there. We stayed near the Vatican so it was a short trip by metro. Could not take any pictures or video of the crypts so that... More
