While visiting Rome in 2011 for a family reunion we luckily met tour guide Alex Mariotti for his tour of the Roman forum. It was delightful and due to that positive experience we booked his tour of the Vatican and the twilight tour of Rome. Alex is knowledgeable, personable and insightful. His description of Michaelangelo's Pieta is still vividly recalled... More

My husband and I had looked up some tours prior to traveling to Rome. We had decided that we would do without and go about Rome on our own (I had been several times, though it was my husband's first time). We just happened to be roped in by tour employees as we were deciding whether or not we wanted... More

We had the pleasure of a tour with firstly Stefano, around the Colosseum, and then with Alex for the rest of the morning. We were so impressed by their professionalism we booked for a second tour the next morning. We are old hands at travel, many guides have passed our way, however the information which was detailed, and the charm... More

Sadly I can only review the booking service (or lack thereof) for this company. There is no way to book their tours but by sending them an email. I have sent 4 emails over the last month trying to get information and book several tours with them and have not received a single reply. Apparently the only way you are... More

Book with Dolce Vita Rome now... your search is over... you just found the best tour guides in Rome. As an avid TripAdvisor user... I find it amazing that we happen to find Alex and his friend Max by chance in front of the Colosseum. I guess after a very bad experience with a guide at the Vatican ... our... More

Our experience with Alex's guided tours is almost identical to others', so I'll avoid repeating and simply confirm. Absolutely terrific in every way. Highly recommend that those planning a trip to Rome contact him in advance and organize their sightseeing around his tour schedule.

We booked Alex on a last minute whim for a "hidden Rome" tour the next day. Yes we paid him in advance (usually not the smartest thing to do) and he was ready willing and able on time the next day. We toured the area near the Campo de Fiori and on to all kinds of adventures. Remarkable and fun.... More

We enjoyed walking at night from Piazza del Popolo to the Spanish Steps and the on to the Trevi Fountain. After the walk we had dinner at a nice local restaurant, although we waited forever for our food, while the locals were served quickly. Was not a happy camper! Don't remember the name of the restaurant.

We first took Alex's tour of Palentine Hill and The Forum and were impressed (and/or disgusted) by some of his props and links between us and the Romans - so freakishly similar - who knew?! I really cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this tour except that despite flying home the following day we got up extra early to... More
