When you're visiting Rome it's easy to start worrying about how much you are spending on tours around the capital's most famous attractions. However you must must must set aside time and money for Alexander Mariotti's 'mysteries' tour. To avoid simply writing a novel we'll just bullet point just a few reasons why the tour is awesome: On the tour... More

Alex is so knowledge and enthusiastic! We were able to do 2 different tours with Alex and he did such a great job at sharing his wealth of knowledge in a fun and relatable way. Once the tour was over he spent time with each group of people to be sure they knew where they were going, giving a restaurant... More

Had the chance to visit the Colosseum and the forums with Dolce Vita Rome and hosted by Alex. He is probably the funniest and most knowledgable tour guide I've ever had the experience in meeting. he spoke about all the most important things in the forums and how they were constructed. If you have a chance in booking this tour... More

I can't possibly say enough good things about Alexander and Dolce Vita Rome... We did his tour of the old forum after coming straight from the Colosseum, and it was absolutely time and money extremely well spent. My degree is in Italian Studies, and to find someone else who is just as (or probably even more) passionate about ancient Rome... More

Really a very enjoyable tour with Alex. Some off the beaten path attractions and a satisfying amount of not so well known history, which I won't get into here. A very professional looking guide who seems as intrigued as any interested tourist should be. Helpful in answering questions and references to other places to see and eat, and day-trip to.... More

Went to Rome for only 2 days and stumbled upon Alex's tour... I'm not a fan of taking tours on vacations - I usually like to find my own way around a new city, but with the limited time, we figured this would be our best option. The tour was surprisingly fun for me. Alex was very knowledgable and took... More

We took the mysteries of Rome tour with Alexander last Sunday (3 May). We are often reluctant to do tours that are not well defined, but a friend . . . . Our friend was spot on. The tour was off the beaten path but highlighted locations and events in Rome's past that you would NEVER find on your own.... More

Alex hosted a tour of the Palatino which enthralled our entire family. The kids (10, 8, 5) loved the sword fighting tips and easily connected & understood the ancient history of Rome through his stories & language etymology. It was so wonderful we jumped at the chance to join him on his mysteries of Rome tour in the afternoon. Both... More
