We got lured from the street as we didn't have our tickets pre purchased. They charge €50 for a guided tour that you can hardly hear or understand and spend more time out of the museum talking than you do inside enjoying the spectacular pieces. Do yourself a favor, skip the tour and buy a skip the line ticket yourself... More

This is the first negative review I have written in quite a long time. I am usually a VERY careful customer, and I got taken for a ride. I paid for a tour of the Vatican in Rome, with me, my wife and 3 kids. They promised we'd 'avoid the line' and go in the museum entrance and have a... More

Were lured to office with the promise of skipping the 4h-long queues around 1pm, and were told we could get on the tour at 2pm. This was first of all not the case, and we had to wait until 2pm. Came back to the office at 2pm, and were told we couldn't get into the Vatican yet so a tour... More

Not a good tour or company at all. The prices were much too high, the organisation was terrible and the tour group was far too large causing the guide to become very stressed. There were still huge crowds and groups of people so we still had to cue for a long time, lots if unnecessary walking to get tickets

We didn't pre-book and didn't want to wait in the long lines in the sun to get into the Vatican. We were convinced instead to pay a lot more for a guided tour in order to skip the lines. We did indeed skip the admission line and didn't have to queue again for St.Peter's. However, it definitely wasn't worth it,... More

The tour was supposed to last 2.5 hours. It lasted 5, and que didn't even get inside the museums until hour 3. They also promised no lines... Qué had to get in the line to buy tickets. The tour guide repeated himself constantly, didn't speak English too well and kept making annoying jokes. Based on this, I will NEVER sign... More

Frustrating, hopeless experience. Tour guide spoke for 3 hours before even getting a glimpse of the interesting art work. Then we were rushed through the museum and did not have enough time to appreciate the art. Definitely a rip off. Best to avoid guided tours and wait in line.

Be very careful with online bookings of cards for travel around Rome. I found buying the local train tickets last year in Rome very easy but my experience of hop on/off buses in other countries very informative and time savers. This year I attempted to buy a Terravision "Card Vatican & Rome 3 day pass" card for 35 euro each for... We went to Rome in early June, we got to St. Peter's Sq at about 10am and the queue went half way around and about two hours long. We took the tour because you can skip the queue and get a guided tour. our tour guide was Deny who was absolutely fabulous. her talk was so interesting and informative. she... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
