Great fun and excellent way to be introduced to a part of Rome that otherwise you may not see. Guide ( who grew up in USA but of Italian heritage) very entertaining as well as knowledgable. Thought a bit pricey but worth it overall.

This was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Rome. Our guide, Gigi, was fantastic: knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The stops were well planned, the distances we walked were reasonable and the food was GREAT!!!

We booked this Eat Italy tour the night before we took it! It was in a wonderful, quiet part of Rome and felt like we saw a different part of the city. Our tour guide, Gigi, was American and gave an amazing tour. We ate at several different places and enjoyed many different foods. We would absolutely do this tour... More

We chose to go to Italy b/c our kids loved Italian food so the food tour was a key part of the visit. Our kids were 7 and 9 and we took the 4 hour morning Taste of Testaccio. Even though we had the only kids on the entire tour the pace and amount of food was perfect for them.... More

My husband and I visited Rome last week for our honeymoon and booked the Twilight Trastevere Food Tour for our first night in Rome. What a great experience. I would highly recommend doing the food tour on your first day. That way, you can sample all the specialties the city has to offer and you have a list of fall... More

We took the Taste Of Testaccio foodie tour and were definitely not disappointed. It was wonderful to get away from the crowds in the city and take this tour in a wonderful neighborhood with one amazing stop after another. Gigi, our guide, was excellent. The tastings were very good and generous portions. The tour group was small which was a... More

This tour met all our expectations! We tried a little bit of food in each place we visited and by the end we were extremely satisfied. We went to shops and restaurants that had been in the same place for many years and in some cases the shop had been run by four generations of the same family, so much... More

We did the day version of the Trastevere walking tour and our guides were Francesco and Jasmine(?). We were part of a small group, and the whole tour felt very personal and intimate, and it was an incredible experience to visit all those multi-generational food stores and stalls with incredible traditional foods. Each and every stop was a highlight in... More

My husband and I did this tour on our second night in Rome. Roger (Rogelo) was an excellent guide! We enjoyed the food, wine, and the company. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Staying in Testaccio

Neighborhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighborhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
