You can't go to Rome and miss this -- one word, Unbelievable! You can easily spend days touring these areas. But if you only have a day, it's doable. I've been to Rome three times and have visited these areas every time. It makes a history lesson come alive. Hire a guide if you can, I recommend Show Me Italy,... More

If you come to Rome do not miss a guided visit of archaeological Rome. We saw in about 3 hours , with our private guide from Journeys to Italy, the Colosseum, the Palatine and Roman Forum and were able toreally appreciate ancient Rome and its history. Ruins came back to life! We loved the panoramic view from the emperor palace.... More

We didn't pick that best of days, but when you have to do Rome quickly, you get what you can. Umbrellas in hand, we spent a GREAT day in the area. We did the Rick Steves' Audio Tour and learned a lot (though the tour of the Forum had us coming and going, since landmarks weren't as clear as we... More

If in Rome this place needs to be seen. It is stunning outside and amazing inside. The history painted inside is so interesting, you can picture the "games" taking place, imagine yourself as a spectator and look over the entire site in awe from the highest level. It is also an amazing experience to stand in the place that you... More

Fairly inexpensive site, worth seeing. It would be good to catch either a tour or get an audioguide. Lots of history behind this area and a lot to learn. Only hard part is ticket allows one entrance and the whole thing takes time. Bring a snack if you are likely to get hungry.

I t was great to see such famous landmarks, would have been nicer if they were cheaper though. As we are newly graduates, and thus poor, so when your excited to see a sight, turn up and have to pay, its not great. But still lovely, and you can peak though fences :)

Walk in history. If the ruins could talk... A very informative and good place to walk around for in hours. Wear good shoes!
