Had a fantastic bike tour with Glen through the streets of Rome! We had a chance to see many areas and sights that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Loved hearing facts about Rome and we were never worried about our safety even driving in traffic - anyone can do this and you will love it! We only wish we had... More

Had a great ride along the Appian way yesterday. Musa gave good insights into the history of the road and the aqueducts and entertained with Senegalese songs whilst riding along. A great way to spend a morning and see some of the countryside outside of Rome Very enjoyable

Of the 7 days our family spent in Italy, our collective favorite part of the trip, next to eating gelato every day, was the Red Bicycle Tour in Rome! There was no "one" thing that made it spectacular, so here are a few highlights: -Glen is a knowledable biker dude! -The day was 70 and sunny. -We are a cycling... More

My husband, our friend, and I took the full day tour (morning was the city and afternoon was catacombs and ancient roman road). We saw a great overview of the city, the lunch was nice, and we had an opportunity to see so many more things in a day by bike rather then by foot! I highly recommend this tour... More

This was the highlight of our week long trip in Rome. We booked a Sunday day tour through the City. Glenn led us in the morning, and Musa did the afternoon. Highlight of the tour: of course seeing the Spanish Steps, Pantheon... those were all must sees. But then we got to the see the Pope and hear him address... More

My husband and I went on the all day tour through Rome, in the morning we visited the catacombs and aqueducts, a long ride but Musa made it as easy as he could for me, being a little out of shape and not used to the roman hills. Musa always made us feel like his ducklings under his wing and... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Our guide Musa was great at telling us about the buildings and architecture as we passed by. He was very friendly. This is a great way to see parts of Rome that you would not be able to see any other way. The ride along via Appia itself was... More

It was an unforgettable 'once in a life time' experience! We were only in rome for two days and managed to fit the major highlights within 8 hours and have a lovely lunch as well. Our tour was spilt into a morning tour with Lorenzo who was very knowledgable, approachable and funny and then the afternoon tour down the appian... More

One of the high points of a great trip. Glenn made sure our bikes fit properly (I'm short, so it took a little doing) and then we were off. Exhilarating ride that gave me new perspective on places I'd been before and introduced me to some new ones. Actual ride is pretty easy -- the seven hills of Rome aren't... More

My woman really is afraid of biking inbetween cars and traffic . But she was couragous enough to allow me to book a bike trip in Rome for both of us. Glenn understood this very well and brought us there where she felt comfortable and safe. Beautiful sceneries of the via Appia and the Aquaduct . And a few ability... More

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighborhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighborhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighborhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
