A great way to see all the hidden gems of Rome with young kids!

After walking miles each day with 3 kids (13,11,8) we were so glad we booked an opportunity to bike around Rome and see the city. Our group was small, just our 5 and another couple. At first, I was worried about the drivers in the area and the kids biking but our guide was awesome! He took care to make... More

The City of Rome, the destination that every traveller has on his list. We did the 4 hour city tour. Firstly, one must understand streets of Rome are not exactly conducive for bike riding so that aspect has been discounted in this review. There were random bikes, the ones who came early got the better gelled seat ones, rest had... More

Thanks for taking the time to write about the tour you took with us. as im responsible for public relations, marketing etc, i think its my duty to remind you that you arrived late for the tour. This meant that we were in a rush to get you going as your group (even though there were only anoher 2 people)... More

We did the The Appian Way and Rome City Tours, both are excellent, the best trips we had in Rome. The guides are excellent and very knowledgable. The traffic was not an issue as we toured in streets and paths with little or no traffic, there are a few occasions where you have to navigate the roads with traffic but... More

We took the full day tour, with Moisa in the morning, then lunch, then Michele in the afternoon. Both guides spoke English well and gave us much interesting detail. True, there was traffic, but they either held traffic for us or helped us to understand how to navigate. In the city, apparently cars, scooters, bicycles, pedestrians all just work out... More

I chose a bicycle tour because I read that the distances between sites and the small streets made bike tours a good idea in Rome. I chose Red Bicycle Tours because the owner is named Glenn; I figured that his first language was English, which is my only language. We spent the first half of the day with Glenn and... More

Musa was an awesome and interesting guide for the 4 of us today. A 3 hour tour to the catacombs, through the beautiful villa neighborhoods, green spaces and ancient areas. Loved all the information he shared with us about the architecture, aqueducts, baths and the Appian Way. Musa was very cautious and safety oriented when biking through busy areas of... More

This bike tour was almost 4 hours. The guide was amazing and took us through very local streets and gave us good history info. You get to see so much more of Rome by bicycle and I felt like I had a great handle on the city after this tour. Would highly recommend this more personalized tour rather than a... More

Enjoyed our Rome City Tour with Glenn who was very knowledgeable, had time to stop and view some of the sights that you may not have seen as a tourist. A cycle tour is a great way to see the sights of the city taking in some additional ones along the way. Time to stop to enjoy the views, take... More

We found them through the internet, it was very easy to make a reservation online and we had the option of half-day rentals! They met us on time at the office, gave us great advise as to where to go around Rome and how to get there. We arranged with them by phone how and when to return the bikes.... More

Although we are regular bike riders at home we were intimidated by the amount of traffic in Rome. However, our guides in both the morning and afternoon were expert at navigating amongst the vehicles and took us to many places we wouldn't have seen otherwise. I would recommend Red Bicycle to anyone who wants to experience Rome in a way... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
