This is a must visit attraction in Rome. Upon entering the Pantheon, you will be dwarfed and awed by its dome. It is the best preserved structure in Rome. The oculus or the round opening in the middle of the dome is the only source of light of the Pantheon. more

I'd always wanted to see the Pantheon, but I had not expected it to have quite the impact that it did - there are bigger, flashier sights, but something about the Pantheon really endeared it to me - it's a warm, friendly old thing! I first encountered it entirely by accident one evening in a rain storm. The exterior is... more

It was raining when we went and the water came down the hole in the ceiling (the oculus). It was terrific. The area on the floor was roped off to stop people slipping and you look closely you can see small holes where the water goes down. Nice surprise to find the last resting place of Raphael. more

We went to the Pantheon on Wednesday morning, I would recommend it as a great time to go as the Papal audience happens on Wednesday morning and thousands of people flock to that. The view of the Patheon from the outside is lovely and there is also a gorgeous fountain opposite. I didn't know much about the Pantheon before going... more

We continue to the Pantheon and get there around 10:45am. It is not busy- yay! I listen to my audio guide and take it all in. I take pics of the inside – tombs of Raphael, Vittorio Emmanuel, the dome and statutes. The dome is slightly bigger than St Peter’s and it is wide as big. It is mostly concrete... more

There is just something about the Pantheon that is so striking. It is massive and well preserved, but mostly it just seems so perfectly proportioned, something that really catches your eye in a way that is hard to describe. It is a visual feast. And of course there are a lot of people there eating it up. But given the... more

Definitely one of the sites you must see in Rome. It is beautiful inside and majestic on the outside. The piazza here is also a great place to stop and have lunch. (If the Pantheon is a bit crowded, duck down the sidestreet towards the Church of Sant'Ignazio Di Loyola, by the way.) more
