The first couple of times I visited Rome, I paid triple the admission price to Colosseum & Roman Forum to skip the ridiculously long line. This time, I could tell that the regular admission line was moving quickly. We spent only 12 Euro instead of the 45 euro "private tour guides" wanted to skip the line. More

Be sure and purchase your ticket elsewhere or you will have to stay on line for a very long time. A ticket can be purchased not far away at the Roman Forum and will include the Colosseum. Try and go early or late in the day and you will avoid the crowds. However, it is so big, you wll have... More

Fabulous and must see. It poured down whilst we were there but we were mostly under cover.Architecturally sophisticated, it reminded me of a modern football stadium. You don't need a guide, or even a plan. Signs and displays in English. Allow about an hour. More

Maybe it was because it was raining but I felt this was such a let down:( Images I had seen of the Colosseum were nothing like what I experienced. Maybe a visit during night time would make a different or if the sun came out!! More

You haven't been to Rome until you have had a TOUR of the Colosseum. I suggest you take the tour so you are just not looking at ground and holes. More

Went on a walking tour of Rome and one of the attractions was the Colosseum, to think that we actually may have stood on a place where possibly Julius Ceasar may have been is beyond comprehension!
