This is a large museum on the Capitoline hill. Entrance is through the palace on the right of the piazza when coming up from the Cordonata and entrance is 10 euros. The museum is divided into sections over 3 palaces and although they keep your bags you are allowed to take photographs. As you pass the entrance you find yourself... more

Admission 8 € per person. This museum has a rich collection. Were glad we had the map in “Fodor’s See It Rome”; the museum’s map stunk. We also enjoyed lunch at the museum café, which was very good and not expensive (for Rome) at 13 € for two. We tried to view the Spinario bronze, which was unfortunately out on... more

My boyfriend and I had not planned to visit the Capitoline Museum during our trip but are so glad we did. We both absolutely loved the museum and were stunned at some of the things on display. There are fresco rooms to rival some of those in the Vatican museums. Some of the sculptures are so old you will be... more

We hadn't planned to visit the museum but decided to on a whim. If you enjoy sculptures, then you will enjoy this place. Just a caution, don't get to close because the attendants will caution you. We accidentally got a little close to one of the sculptures in the courtyard and got whistled at by one of the guards. Plus... more

There are pretty interesting sculptures such as the original bronze of Marcus Aurelius, the Dying Galatian, she wolf, and giant head of Constantine. You can actually take pictures inside. If you are facing the museums at the top of the steps leading up to the piazza, there is a building in front of you, one to the right, and one... more

Lots of good art here. (Obviously if you don't like art and sculpture, don't bother). Took me several hours. Labels are in english so no need for the audioguide. There are 2 buildings, one, mostly sculputure is still organized as it was 2 centuries ago. Don't miss the tunnel connecting the 2 buildings - great view overlooking the Roman Forum. more
