But as you get weary, head up to the terrace for a coffee and biscuit break overlooking the city. Lovely view, great breeze and time to review your floor plan brochure to make sure you have seen everything you want to.

Went there to see the classic she-wolf sculpture and was surprised to explore the Lux exhibit. We didn't have much time so we didn't get the opportunity to pour over the exhibit as we would have liked. Make sure you plan to spend plenty of time here.

Having a good guidebook (I recommend Rick Steve's "Rome") will help you make your way through this great museum with its fantastic sculptures, paintings and.... views of the Forum. The cafeteria's food is so-so but it affords magnificent views of the city.

There is an amazing exhibit at this museum right now - Lux In Arcana. The Vatican Secret Archives Reveal Itself. It features100 documents released from the secret Vatican Archives.
GO EARLY in the day - it gets so mobbed and the rooms are rather small. You can get tickets same day. Go to http://www.luxinarcana.org/en/la-mostra/ for ticket information. A must see...

The Lux exhibition was very interesting but busy. The 2 regular wings were both worthwhile but the plan was really confusing and we wasted alot of time trying to find different areas. If you are a Brit and watched the Mary Beard programme don't miss the underground tunnel with all the memorials that she featured. The cafe /roof terrace is a...

When the British newspapers mentioned the Lux In Arcana exhibition last year, I thought it would be really interesting to see. I bought tickets on the Musei Capitolini website and then arranged a short trip to Rome. I am so glad I did. My husband and I were mesmerised from start to finish. We spent over five hours there and...

The exhibition itself is divided into various sections (A through S – with a few letters omitted) – each occupying one of the exhibition spaces of Musei Capitolini and covering a defined period in history, in addition to the archiving and restoration procedures. The exhibition as a whole was fascinating – must see exhibits from my perspective were Henry VIII,...

The Musei Capitolini is worth a vist for the following: the original Marcus Aurelius bronze statue, the original She-Wolf, and the remaining pieces of the colossus of Constantine. There is also a rather impressive collection of Ancient Roman statues, as well as another Constantine colossus in the courtyard. However, I went to see the museum and was completely and utterly...

It has been a few years since I visited the Capitoline museum but I always remember it to have been one of the most interesting museums I have ever visited. It's home to the bronze she wolf and romulus and remus statue, the marcus aurelias monument and so much more.

I believe the most recent excellent ratings are due primarily to the outstanding temporary exhibit Lux Arcana. Just this exhibit alone was worth the price of admission and then some. If you are even vaguely interested in the history and scope of the Vatican's influence, do not miss this exhibit! We experienced the Vatican a couple of days earlier, and...
