Just like the Vatican City those Rome Symbols don’t need any kind of description but “DON’T miss it!!!” When I was there I get a guide for both the colosseum and the Forum and it was the best thing I did. I spend 22 euros for the ticket plus the guided tour. I think it’s different to have a real... more

This is one of the places which you have to visit when in Rome. An area full of antique buildings that were built over and over, and which miraculously have remained to our times. The Foro Romano is easily accessible as it is in the centre of Rome and there is a huge area. We bought the Archaeological card (28... more

We booked Maximilio Tour of the Vatican via internet and were amazed at how great the tour guide was. So good that we signed on with another guide from the same company the next day for the Roman Forum. 3 to 4 hours each time, mesmerizing and kept 2 restless tired 9 year olds entertained. These guides really know their... more

The Roman Forum, along with the Colosseum, is a must-see. There are two entrances: one closer to the Palatine Hill (on Via di San Gregorio) and the other closer to the northwest end of the forum (on Via dei Fori Imperiali). If you go through the Palatine entrance, be warned that there is a hike to get to the forum.... more

I recommend before you go to download Rick Steve's audio guide and map. If you bring your ipod with you you can have your own audio tour. There is a lot more to see here than Palatine Hill and the stories are rich with history. Make sure you have about 45 minutes to see and walk everywhere. When I went... more

Toured the Forum/Collisseum with John as our guide. There were 5 of us so the tour was highly personalized. John spent more than the designated 3 hours telling us "everything". His knowledge of the sites was bottomless. I found the history fascinating. Highly reccommend this company and John. Many tour companies get bad reviews it seems but we started on... more

I visited a friend in Italy for a week (which was definitely not enough time!) The Roman Forum is a must see. It's beautiful and awe inspiring. My friend gave me a minor history lesson while there and I have been reading that it's helpful to have a guide to understand the significance of the site. I did ok without... more

We bought our Roma passes here and it was well worth it because we planned to visit other historical sites. This pass saves you money and means not waiting in the long queues at the Colosseum! The area is a sprawling site and very interesting but the audio guide was very confusing. Still we had a guide book and various... more

I would advice visitors to get some form of a guide (audio guide, join a tour, or a really good Rome reconstructed book) before entering this attraction. My sisters and I, unfortunately did not have this foresight so we did not get to fully appreciate the significance of the forum remains. We were walking aimlessly in the forum and Palatine... more

We went to this place after purchasing our ticket at the Colloseum across the street. What we did not realize is once you go through the little gate you can not get the audio guide with out hopping back over the fence. So, you basically wasted a good ticket to go see ruins with out really knowing what significance is... more
