If you want to take the audiobook, don't stay in the same line with everyone else. Go directly at the front of the queue where it splits up. You will be able to buy audiobook and tickets from that "special" desk. I would not recommend the audiobook since the way it presents the forum is really messy. Too many facts... More

Walk in the steps of Nero and Marc Anthony and see how they just randomly built house after house with the stones from other properties or just on top of disused buildings! Lots of walking and twists and turns, ancient marble pillars for you to rest on. We spent 4 hours here and we still did not explore it all.... More

I have been visiting Rome many times. I did not think I need guide to Rome not to speak to the Clloseum or to the Roman Forum. I have been there so many times and read about it. Few days ago we went to the Colloseum and joined a group( as this is the best way to skip the very... More

We arrived early in the morning (9 AM) and there was no line whatsoever, we just walked up and got the tickets that later that day got us into the colosseum without waiting in line there at all. I am a history lover and read a lot about ancient Rome before our visit but still needed a guide, because the... More

We spent a lot of time walking around this area on a late afternoon with very nice weather. We didn't actually go down into the ruins - we didn't know you could! There was no other people in any part of them and they seemed fenced off to us. However, I don't think you really need to go down into... More

Off course you should see Roman Forum when in Rome - it doesn't need more elaborate descriptions.. but maybe an advise on how to get in without standing in line, which can be tedious and exhausting - and remember that you can buy a combo ticket both for Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine. Buy tickets online - and skip the... More

We visited the forum after we spent most of the day at the colosseum and would have spent more time there but were pretty tired. The ruins are absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of ancient architecture so i really enjoyed walking around looking at the remnants of the government buildings . It is so wonderful to see a part... More

This was a very cool tour. You MUST NEED A TOURIST or you will not have the slightest bit of understanding what it is. It is better for children in Gr.5 and up. Loved this experience! It is good if you get a package with a tourguide because if you want to go to the Colosseum they can get you... More

Directly linked to the Palatine Hill you'll find the Forum Romanum. It is a very nice and calm place to walk around and amaze yourself about the history that took place here. I definitly recommend you to go here and enjoy it.

You don't need a tour guide if you have a decent guide book and a lot of the information stands have an English translation so you can work out what things used to be. :) You can get some amazing views of Rome from the top of the hill as well.
