This is a high quality museum with several high quality exhibits. Much of the exhibit is comprised of ancient statuary, much of it very well preserved, especially the statute of Augustus. Also interesting are the mosaics and interiors of Roman homes. Many are reassembled into rooms for an idea of how they originally appeared. There are also many mosaics. Also... more

Most guide books will call attention to the excellent collection of sculpture from early Rome at the Palazzo Massimo, adjacent to the Central Termini train station in Rome.
