Was about a 10-15 minute walk from the Barberini metro stop. Was under restoration, so no water running. They did have a walkway on scaffolding right up to the sculptures for those that wanted close up pictures, but it was the same as when I say it 15 years ago with the water running.

For some reason, I had a better time on my 2nd visit to Rome and the Trevi fountain. I allowed myself to enjoy the moment while having a gelato and sitting next to the fountain. Our hotel was right behind the fountain, so ending the night here was perfect after a long and tiring day of walking and touring. There... More

I really wanted to see the fountain but it was totally drained, complete with plastic walls around all sides. You had to wait in a long line to even get a chance to really see it. That being said, it was enough to draw a huge crowd late at night, and you can still get an idea of the massive... More

Worth seeing. If you want to get a photo with the fountain as background and without a dozen people begging you to help you (for a tip $$$, or for your camera!!), go very early in the morning.

I love the Trevi fountain but just wanted to let you know that it is under renovation through the rest of the year and into 2015. I know the work needs to be done but it was so disappointing that my daughters did not get to see the fountain in working order. Such a beautiful sight ordinarily.

I was disappointed, when I got there, to find that there were construction or maintenance works taking place, and there were scaffolds all around the place. couldn't get a clear view of the fountain or at least take a decent picture.

It's my 60th birthday today and visiting the Trevi fountain was on my special list of things to see. Well I won't forget seeing all of the scaffolding and barricades in a hurry, and if to appease the tourists you can throw your coins in a makeshift small pool that my grandchildren would find hard to play in. I know... More

Being renovated. Visit in 2015 if you want to see it. They did have a scaffolding bridge to walk over so you could throw in your coin. The next day we happened by and people couldn't even do that. Good thing there are many more things to see in Rome!

We've heard so much about the Trevi Fountain and we had done our research before we went and knew it was closed for refurbishment, however speaking to a fellow traveler we were told it was still worth a visit as you could still see it. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. I appreciate they need to refurb it but I think... More

Unfortunately the fountain was closed when we got to it. It's unfortunate that they decided the perform this work through the peak travel season. There's really no point in going until after the work is completed.
