Food is one of the ways of discovering a city. Chef Andrea was thoughtful enough to give an introduction of Roman cuisine and also some of the interesting sights near his cooking studio. You can request ahead of the course what you would like to learn and chef Andrea will try to suit it. It really depends on the ingredients... More

My time in Rome was limited, but I am very happy to have spent some of it with Cooking Classes in Rome. Chef Andrea and his lovely formerly American wife did an excellent job. The morning started with a coffee and a few minutes to chat and relax with the other guests. We then proceeded to prepare a 4 course... More

My friend and I took this cooking class with Chef Andrea on our last day in Rome. We both agreed this was our "best day". Chef Andrea exchanged e-mails with me before we booked explaining exactly what we would do, how to get to his class from our hotel, etc. I felt I knew him before I left the States.... More

All the other reviews are right on the mark. This was one of our favorite things we did on the whole trip. Chef Andrea is a great chef and an excellent instructor and worked tirelessly to create a wonderful, happy atmosphere for the whole group, while really teaching us not just how to cook, but some theory and history behind... My mum and I attended Andrea's cooking class and had the best day cooking up a storm. His knowledge and passionate about food is to be admired. Our day started preparing what was to be an amazing meal. Once we had cut, diced, sliced, boiled, sauteed, cooked and made fresh pasta we spent the next hour eating out delights, talking... More

My husband and I had the very best afternoon cooking with Chef Andrea! We were busy chopping, making pasta, soufflé, stuffed pumpkin flowers then drinking wine and eating our preparations:-). We met lovely new friends from around the globe. This was truly the perfect afternoon.

Last year my husband and I took Andrea's cooking class and had a great time! So this year, when I returned with my niece to Rome, it went without saying that we would spend a day with Chef Andrea again. In the past year, the classes have moved to a new location which is great! Near Santa Maria in Trastevere,... More

This was one of the most memorable, instructive, fun days we spent on our recent trip to Italy. In fact when we return for another visit (and we most definitely will) we will be sure to book another class with Chef Andrea. He and his wife were wonderful hosts to an unforgettable day of cooking, laughing, learning and meeting new... More

My husband and I recently did this cooking class with Chef Andrea. It was one of the highlights of our trip. He was so entertaining and knowledgeable and funny! His wife was a wonderful hostess also and we had a lot of fun. We made 4 dishes and we had a turn at everything. It was the most amazing food... More

My husband and were in Rome 5 days (and Italy for 3 weeks) and both of us agree this was one of the highlights of our trip! We were gifted a cooking class for our honeymoon by family members and after reading reviews chose to be a part of this one and we are glad we did! It was a... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
