We took this tour our second day in Rome and wanted to see all the sights first before deciding where to begin our Roman adventure. We rode it around the city once, then the second trip around we got off near Piazza Navona/Pantheon/Castel Sant'Angelo area. The staff was nice and answered any and all questions!!! For one day pass is... More

On booking a Skip the Line: Vatican and Sistene Chapel tour whilst in Rome (through Viator, the tour company is actually unknown until the bus turns up), my mother and I were in for a complete shock and lesson in how not to run a tour 101. The lack of communication by all staff (bus driver, tour guides) was appalling,... More

We first started with a hop on hop off tour. We got on the bus and there was no aircon, the hygiene reminded us of a public toilet and the explanation through the headset was a waste of time!! The voice was barely understandable and the information we provided after we passed the sites, so photo opportunities were missed. Today... More

We took the Rome tour to escape the heat and to have a final look around the city. We wanted to sit up top for another perspective and were told there were seats free ( we were willing to wait for another bus) when we got up top there were no seats together so I was not too happy. The... More

This was definitely our worst day trip, we have ever been apart of. We were first told that a driver would be at the hotel for 7 am to collect us. Driver got to our hotel 15 mins before, and got rather angry because he had to wait 5 mins for us to grab some breakfast. I suggest you tell... More

This was indeed one of the worst day trips I have ever been on. We got picked up from our hotel at 7am to be brought to the office and meet the coach. It was supposed to leave at 7.30 but we were a little late in leaving. It is a 3 hour drive to Naples which is fine as... More

#1 Viator is loaded with fake "5 star" reviews and it is difficult to post anything to contrary. #2 transit time to the island involves a total of 3 buses and a boat trip that take about 5.5 hours one way. and 5.0 - 5.5 hour back. You like to waste your time? #3 stops on the way are guarded... More

First of all, I don't like already this kind of tourism, but is opportunity to get a quick overview of the most interesting places in a city (and wy wife likes it!!). But this was really terrible: it tooked me about 15 min. before I had the right language and volume in the earphone, but all this was lost trouble... More

Did the Vatican tour with Max as our guide and he was brilliant. He was informative, funny, knowledgeable and we had an amazing afternoon. We then booked an afternoon in Tivoli and had Luigi as our guide. Luigi is a very nice man but the whole tour seemed very rushed and we couldn't hear what he was saying. We didn't... More

Firstly I should say that myself and my girlfriend did enjoy this tour, but there were many flaws! Beginning at 7.30 am, the tour bus gets on the road for a long journey from Rome to Naples. Understandably this journey takes over three hours, but with the many rest stops and the drive around the city of Naples, it just... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
