False stop frequency estimates

The flyer said there would be a bus every 10 minutes, the lady on board said every 20 minutes. In my experience I waited around half an hour at every stop.

This was a nightmare of a tour. We were 45 minutes late being picked up to start. Half way to Naples, we stopped at a rest area which was supposed to last 20 minutes and was closer to 40. When we arrived in Naples and picked up our local guide, Fernando, we had 10 minutes to take photos, which was... More

My tour to Florence got canceled and I booked as a last resort to Naples/Pompeii. We made multiple unnecessary stops to the restrooms, coral/cameo shop, over priced cafes which was all a tourist trap. The tour of Naples was horrible. We never got off the bus and took a 1 hour bus tour of Naples. The description made it seem... More

We booked a 3 hour walking tour of Rome with Green Line Tours, and we were not disappointed! Our guide (Max?) was Italian, but spoke perfect English, he was very knowledgeable. The other goof thing about our guide, was he was in no rush, and had a great sense of humour, which made the tour very interesting. Of course the... More

My sister and I booked this tour to visit Orvieto and Assisi. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the Green Line Tour Office. We arrived at 0615 so we waited, without explanation, until 0720. The staff was not friendly. We walked to the bus which was located near a cafe. Since we had time, we... More

Teresa was an excellent tour guide for Naples and Pompeii, she knew the history of both cities and was eager to answer any of our questions about the cities.

Absolutely astounding. We were the only ones at our tour so it made it more personal. We were very lucky due to it was a Jubilee year of Mercy - thus we were able to walk through the Holy Doors that normally happens every 25 years. St. John's was breathtaking, honestly pictures doesn't due it justice. St Mary Major was... More

On advice, we decided on the Green Line Hop on Hop off bus tour. This was a serious mistake. The buses are average, the staff are downright rude, the commentary is awful and we had to wait upwards of 45 minutes for a bus when they are supposed to come every 25 minutes in winter. And then, to top it... More

We were told by a local guide that the Green Line Hop on hop off bus was the best. Even though it was the most expensive we took his advice and paid for a 72 hr pass. What a huge mistake! The staff were unpleasant, the bus didn't run to its schedule, the audio guide lacked information and the buses... More

Initially this full day tour to Naples & Pompeii started out well - we left Rome city on time, comfortable bus and friendly guide accompanied us. Weather was lovely and it was nice to see the Lazio countryside on the way to Naples. We were joined there by another local guide for Naples and Pompeii - he had a very... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
