Started our Vatican Museum at 0930. The first exhibit we saw was after 1215! These guys almost ruined our Vatican visit, almost. The first 2 hours were spent hovering around St Peters Square where this bunch of time wasters tried to pick up more customers. The guide on this English speaking tour spoke English badly. At 12.30 after 30 minutes... More

This was an extremely poorly organised tour and expensive. We were told originally to meet at the office at 2.45 but when we collected the tickets this was changed to 3.15. We didn't leave on time and having walked to St Peters Square with a large group we stood for nearly an hour listening to information from the guide. The... More

Our first tour was with stefan around the colosseum whospoke wonderful english and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly , he brought the colosseum to life for us.He then passed us to Chad, an american with a clear passion for his subject at the roman forums. He too was very informative with a very dry sense of humour. We enjoyed these tours so... Avoid this tour company at all costs!! We arrived at the time we were told (11.00am) and waited & waited - really poor organisation and at 11.40 my husband spoke to the group of guides who eventually pulled their finger out and we got going around 11.45. We trekked to the Vatican museum - and our 'guide' paid little attention... More

Took their Vatican tour on May 2nd. 2015 at 1130. Guide was Roberto. I have not been with a guide with a worse attitude. He was insulting anyone who would ask a question. He would not give straight answers. My wife asked him 2-3 simple yes no type questions and each time he tried to make fun of her. At... More

We ran into a salesperson who sold us a Coliseum and Forum tour with the premise of being shown through these areas by a archeologist in a small group of 8 people. Needless to say the group turned into 30 plus and the guide was brutal. He was all about jokes and we felt he hardly knew what he was... More

We were lucky enough to have Elaine as our guide for the Forum and Palintine Hill. She was simply excellent. Her knowledge was extensive and she had the knack of "cutting the crap" to give the facts in an engaging way. Personable and polite, she's a credit to the company. We loved her so much that we booked the Vatican... More

My wife and I took a tour of the Colosseum, which included a tour of the Palatine Hill too. Initially it was worth the money just to skip the massive queues! The initial part of the tour was undertook by Roberto in the Colosseum but the experience really came in to it's own when Elaine took over at the Palatine... More

We were escorted around Collosseum by Roberto who we found friendly but obviously bias in some of his views that may have caused discontent with some tourists. We were very fortunate to have Elaine escort us around Palentine Hill and Roman Forum. Elaine was very informative and we gained a lot of knowledge on a subject I must admit to... More

We have never used tour guides before, choosing to go it alone and only did this one as the queues at the Colosseum were very very long and we were promised a quick jump to the front. We were so glad we did, Chad's knowledge on everything Roman was brilliant , he was very funny and kept us all inthralled.... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
