So we had online tickets for the vatican museum and sistine chapel for the Wednesday! We bumped into an American guy outside the vatican on Tuesday. He informed us that we could upgrade to a guided tour for €25 each. This particular tour is normally €55, so we actually paid €45 each in total. We upgraded because, quite simply, I... More

We spoke with Romaround Tours' guide Christian after he finished a Roman Forum tour with a group. He was telling people he was able to do tours for individuals or small groups in the afternoons and would personalise it to whatever you wanted, which appealed to us. We organised to meet Christian the next day for an extended personal tour... More

Lesson 1: if you have your online ticket for the Vatican Museum and the Sistine chapel, you can also access the Saint Peter directly from the Museum. Therefore, don't worry about the line outside the Saint Peter Lesson 2: if a tour guide offers you to skip the line outside the Saint Peter while pointing out you have an online... More

Alex showed us around the Paletine and it was fascinating. He was very knowledgable, funny and very easy to understand. He is an excellent speaker and you were drawn in to everything he said. We were so glad we took this tour. He was captivating and we came home with loads of facts to wow our friends with!

Having been told to be there for 8.15 ( to be among the first groups to enter) we set off from the office at 8.35, walked to the entrance, picked up the audio sets and went inside at 9.15. At 10.15 we were still standing, in an area just inside the entrance, in the heat, in front of boards depicting... More

We booked this tour after enjoying the Colosseum & Rome Forum tour. It was difficult to hear the guide via the head phones and the delivery style was poor and as such was boring the whole group, many of which were keen to leave the group. We have done lots of short tours and this was the worst. Would not... More

We started of on the Colosseum tour with Roberto - what a waste of money - lacked information and tried filling time by being rude and offensive and telling unfunny jokes - literally we were sped round the colosseum and handed over to someone else. We also did the Vatican tour with the same company at a discounted price -... More

We are four friends who go away annually, very often to European cities. I had visited Rome previously but the others hadn't. We headed off to the Colosseum and decided we would join a tour to get a better experience. We were dubious of the various people offering tours but decided to go with one that seemed genuine enough. For... More

My boyfriend and I went to the colosseum, and when we got there, there was a HUGE line. We were approached by a man saying if we sign up for the tour we get to skip the line, so we said ofcourse. The tour wasn't that expensive. 25 euros for the both of us and that included the colosseum and... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
