I did not ever think someone could convince me that tours where with the money until our trip to Rome. We arrived at the Vatican and where chatted into going on this tour (we agreed because it was our last day and the queue was about 3 hours long and we were told we could get to skip the line)... Our family and another toured Italy and ended our tour in Rome. We were introduced to Romaround Tours and by luck met Elaine who was the best tour guide ever. Her people management skills were second to none and her knowledge of the Vatican Musuem was extraordinary. She was caring and aware of people's needs yet knowledgable and fun to... More

We had a terrible experience - We booked with a guide for the Viaticum at 2pm. We met at the entrance and she seemed to stall and stall, showing us the exteria, which we could have done for free ourselves. We soon realised she was waiting for more people to join the tour. Finally we entered the Viaticum at 5.30pm... More

We did the tour of the Vatican museum, Sistine chapel, ending at St Peters. I've been to Rome before and done all of these sites on my own and had a very positive experience. With the tour, you do learn little tidbits of information but the tour is long and you don't get to spend as much time as you... More

Elaine is an excellent guide and provided an interesting and informative tour of the Palatine Hill and then the Vatican. Well worth the money if you go with her. The Vatican tour was particularly good - well paced and, given the inevitable crowds, she kept the group together and showed major works of art with little fuss. The fact that... More

I signed up for a tour with Romaround Tour company to see the Vatican City Museums and St. Peter's Basilica on October 23, 2014. I highly recommend using this company, especially Silvia. It is one thing to see the architecture, the sculpture or the painting, but quite a bit more to have an informed tour guide tell about the life... More

we were just going to see the collasium ourselves but spoke to one of their reps who explained things really well and the price was reasonable for a guided tour so we decided to give it a try. We had an Italian woman to start who took us round the collasium. She was very knowledgable and answered any questions anybody... More

We booked for a tour in French. After a long wait we were requested to join a Spanish Tour. Too late to change for another tour. We realised that the Spanish tour had started 2 hrs before ! Although the guide did speak French, comments in two languages made the tour longer. We git to see only 1/3 of the... More

We did a few tours with them including the colosseum, papal audience & vatican museum, and they booked us on a day trip to florence. The colosseum tour was very basic and they didn't take us to the ground level and just walked us over to the Roman Forum and didn't even take us through any key sites. It was... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
