Description: Real Rome Tours is a small team of local guides, licensed and experienced...
Real Rome Tours is a small team of local guides, licensed and experienced in giving guided tours of Rome in English. Rather than work for tour operators, we formed this company in order to cut out the middleman and work directly with our customers, thereby avoiding the commissions that tour operators add to our tour fees. Although we are all licensed guides in Rome and the Vatican, we all have our own areas of expertise. We have archaeologists, art historians, and university lecturers among our ranks, and as our reputation has grown we continue to invite similarly-qualified guides to join us. Our philosophy is simple: We believe that tours should be fun as well as informative. We also believe that our customers are best served in small groups. For this purpose, we strictly limit all of our group tours to only 12 people. Our fees are honest and reflect the small sizes of our groups. We include ticket prices in our tour fees where tickets are applicable, and we always skip the lines. Headsets are provided so you can walk around and still hear your live guide. Our customer base and reputation have been growing steadily over the past few years, and we promise to continue to strive to deliver the perfect Rome experience for all our future guests. We hope to see you on one of our tours in 2015!

Isabella, our guide, was the best! She went over and above to make this tour a memorable experience, It was a small group, informative, and the guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Do not hesitate to book with Real Rome Tours! Looking forward to tomorrow's Coliseum tour.

What a great day in Rome! I booked the coliseum underground/roman forum tour the day before for myself and a friend as most of the other companies were sold out. Was happy to see that this company was also a lot cheaper than the other companies at €79! At the start of the tour I was surprised to find that... More

Great informative tour. Our guide had his PhD in archaeology, so we had an interesting point of view on what we were seeing. Would definitely recommend this tour.

While visiting Rome for the first time with my family of four (children ages 9 & 16), we decided to book a few tours. We were advised that booking tours allows you to skip the long queues and make the most of such an amazing city. Rome can be quite overwhelming, with many sites to see and places to visit.... More

Real Rome Tours - Around the Coliseum Roman forum and the Palatine Hill. Excellent, lovely day out! Very friends tour guide, extremely informative about the history of every where we went! I have already recommend them to all my friends and family and I am also planning to return to Rome where I will defiantly be booking with them again!

We took the Colluseum and Roman Forum tour, including the underground access. What a great insight into the history of early Rome and the way things were in the past. So much you would not even consider without someone there to point it out to you!

We really enjoyed the experience. We felt that we got a very nice overview of the city and the history/architecture. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

Paola Molinaro was our guide for our Colosseum and Forum tour. It was a great tour and Paula was very knowledgeable about both sights and spoke excellent English. She had many interesting facts that were unique and was able to answer any and all questions. I highly recommend Paula as your guide.

We did 2 tours in one day. Very busy non stop day but well worth it. The Colloseum and its underground, Panthion Hill and The Forum was our morning tour. The Colloseum will take your breath away. So much history. Be sure to do the underground tour. The Vatican was our afternoon tour. Thankfully we got to skip the line... More

With so many tour companies in Italy vying for your $$ and time, it is hard to decide. Based on TA reviews we decided to book ours with Real Rome Tours. They are very professional and very easy to do business with. Sometimes when you are booking overseas, there can be a lag in communication but I did not find... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
