A very interesting place to visit while on Procida. We found using the English guide very through and learned so much about what we were seeing. There is much history to be found within this Abazzia. Go and learn for yourselves and you will not be disappointed.

This was an interesting tour. It was only about 3 euros for a guided tour. Ask for an english guide. We arrived at 10am just as it was opening. I think it closes for lunch and reopens in the afternoon. The views are amazing. The history and building were very interesting.

Within its walls are some spectacular paintings and sculpture of the 17th to 18th centuries, oratory and hidden chapel in the lower levels. Built onto the edge of Terra Murata, the medieval fortifications built to protect Procida from raids (Saracen and other), it is a... More

Early October with a warm sum bveaming down from a clear blue sky proved the ideal time to make the long, steady but not unduly steep climb to Terra Murata, the ancient walled town perched high on a hill at the eastern end of the island which was clearly visible as the ferry approached Procida. A former fortress, palace and... More
