As you roam from house to house you are struck with the range and types of artwork found in each. There are painted walls, tiled pictures in floors, carved stonework, bronze sculptures, water gardens, beautiful architecture that still exists to this day. What you don't see are all the smaller artifacts, carved wood and other pieces that burned when the... More

A historical site, with details of information about the owner and his status 2000 years ago. Sad thing to know, that the iconic status in the center is not the original statue. If you want to see the original, you have to come to the Naples Museum. Still, it is an amazing experience to see the famous house in front... More

This is one of the best-preserved homes in Pompei, with beautiful artwork, much of the original tile floors and, of course, the amazing little statue of a faun.

Each of the sights at Pompeii are so special from the perspective of preserving history of everyday life in the ancient city. The villa, named House of the Faun, gives us a peek into the size and composition of a household of the wealthy of Pompeii. The original mosaics and statue can be seen in the Naples Archeological Museum. ...

The House of the Faun gives a great impression about a Roman privat house, in excellent state, I loved it!

I think the statue is a copy of something that was originally at the site, I just wish there was more of this about the site, as much has been transported to the National Museum of Archeology in Naples.

The statue here looked as though it should be in a museum. Truth be told, though, besides the statue and the impluvium where it stands, there isn't anything else to see at Casa del Fauno (House of the Faun). Our tour guide told us to be sure and not miss it. I enjoyed seeing it, but truth be told, I... More

Keep going until you find the little faun - but it's not the original. That's in Naples. However, you still get a real feel for how the place would have been in Roman times.

It is rather amazing that this little Faun statue survived in such great condition along with large sections of floor mosaics.
