Not to be missed during your visit to the ruins. The original statue is in the Naples Museum but the replica will do. Visit the museum in Naples after your Pompeii visit to see a fine collection of artifacts.

While the original bronze statue of the faun and the most admirable mosaic floors are housed in the Naples Museum, the reproductions provide you with the opportunity to glimpse the splendor that existed 2000 years ago. This is a vast, luxurious villa with two peristyles, wonderful gardens and a dining room for every season. Visit early on your tour of... More

I don't know if the statue was saved at this real site but the mosaic floor is one incredible thing to see

It was closed, like so much in Pompeii and Herculaneum. They have to conserve, but feel they should warn you before you buy a ticket - or reduce the price a little. Otherwise - Herculaneum is easier, and more intact. Really gives the feel of how the romans lived - all classes, too...

Great to see the house, even better to link it with the artefacts in the Archaeological museum. Just wish I could have seen the artefacts in the house when it was first uncovered!

Most of this house is now in the nationale archelogical museo in naples, including the real faun...the one here is a fake. Go to the museum and see the best of pompei...as its not here!

You have to see the detail ~ from the dancing faun statue in the front garden to the detail floor tile (replica - original is in the museum in Naples) dating back to 333 BC. The largest private home covering an entire city block (3,000 sq. meters). Don't miss it!!

The house of the faun is a perfectly preserved home in Pompeii. The fact that it was buried under ash and still looks this great in unbelievable! The statue of the child "dancing" that is in the center foyer is breathtaking, along with the beautiful mosaic floor art it is a prime example of the ancient Italian way of life.

At the Naples museum you see the valuable artworks but they do not prepare you for the size of this "villa". It is more like a housing complex of the times. Make sure you visit it when you go to Pompeii
