as were sections of the Via d'Abbondanza. The story of why this is is well known but it was a shame.

Interesting iconography. Need an open mind for some of the paintings and plenty of imagination!!. Much of the decoration is still in tact and the house was open to access

To get to the House of Vettii requires a walk on the difficult cobblestones that is in one of the farther areas on the site. No signs informed the visitors that the area was closed until you noticed the tape across right as you approached.
