Had read that it was very nice, so stopped by in the early evening just as the bells were ringing. Happened on a rosary service that was well-attended by locals of all ages. The paintings and murals throughout the church are lovely, and I spent a cool and memorable 45 minutes or so there.

Planning to visit Pompei, this Sanctuary is the biggest surprise during my internet search. I thought Pompei is just pure archeological site. I was wrong because this Sanctuary is an added attraction spiritually. My group had an appointment for a Holy Mass at noontime. When we arrived , there was a mixed-up of which Chapel to be used. Workers like... More

The decoration could be considered to be overdone but we liked it. Do not forget to climb the clock tower (by elevator) for a breathtaking view.

While there are many more beautiful churches in Italy, while in Pompei you must see this. It is the most visited church and has abundance of religious pilgrimage each year. People claim to be healed miraculously. The beauty of the outside architecture, statues, lavishly decorated walls and ceilings are worth seeing. Make it a part of your trip while visiting!

The church is actually the most visited site in Pompei due to a high number of religious pilgrims. According to a tourist magazine found at our hotel, a woman claims she was miraculously healed of her paralysis a few months ago, so there are lots of people flocking to this church looking for miracles. This church always seemed to be... More

My main objective was the 360 degree aerial view of the area from the top of the campanile. You need to go inside the building between it and the church to purchase your Euro 2 tickets. Then you ride a small elevator up, up, up to the top of the tower. The views were awesome. The sights of the ruins... More

There are better churches in Italy, but since you're visiting the city drop in to see it. It is very nice inside. If you're fortunate there will be a mass taking place during your visit. In Piazza Bartolo Longo stands the famous sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Rosario. The Sanctuary, which was designed by the architect Antonio Cua who... More
