Amazing

Absolutely brilliant church, looking at the outside we had no idea this would be so beautiful. In fact this was one of the most beautiful churches we saw in Italy.

The exterior of this Church from the 1400s is very unique...and quirky! But when you walk through the doors, you find yourself in an absolutely breathtaking, ornate interior! Worth the trip.

Because of the strange diamond patterned front, I didn't expect the church to be so beautiful on the inside. We entered when there was a mass going on and the sun shined perfectly through the windows to give it an almost holy experience.

Behind a strange and somewhat austere facade, this church opens up into a jaw droppingly bright an richly decorated space. Some beautiful painting all around. Very interesting to see the chapel and rooms dedicated to St. Joseph Moscati, a doctor at a local hospital, who used to treat the poor for free. Seemed like an all round good egg, and... More

Jesuit church in the historic center. A plain, unassuming facade gives no hint of the baroque beauty of the interior. A definite must for anyone seeking to visit the major churches of Naples.

As a practising Catholic I wanted to attend mass on Easter Sunday morning and chose Gesu Nuovo. It's easy to find and identify thanks to the strange pyramid structures outside. Mass took place at 10am (clearly detailed on their website) and although tourists continued to view the church throughout we were able to celebrate the mass without disturbance by the... More

Beautiful church with so many intricate details. The surrounding area is also great for exploring by foot. One of our favourite areas of Naples, full of history and culture everywhere you turn.

We visited and attended mass at Gesu Nuovo, during which time I had plenty of opportunity to note all the little details, some finely crafted and some frankly overdone, that make up a high Baroque church. I definitely recommend the visit. Moreover, the facade is truly unique in Napoli.
