We visited here and were almost the only people. Amazingly it is an incredible palace more inside that from the outside as the city surrounds it and it has no grounds like Versailles. But I would say the inside and the furniture and walls and art are better, also no crowds at all , just grand empty spaces filled with... More

Of course you start to get used to centuries old art hanging within reach at churches all over Napoli, but this is a little different in that there are secular pieces as well. The palace itself has an interesting history. The different rooms contain authentic period furniture as well as art. I saw lots of people passing quickly through the... More

It took us a few visits to Naples before we hit the Royal Palace, but I'd certainly recommend it. While not as big as some other in Europe, it's still impressive. The Italian marble staircases and halls are lovely. You will get a hand-held with a recorded tour in your language. I did have problems finding the numbers for certain... More

We had a day in port and had read about the palace on line and had decided to totally check it out. One of our friends we where traveling with spoke Italian and we got a taxi from the port and he took out to the palace and left us there for 2 hour to check it out. Wow totally... More

Very nice. It is a fantastic palace located in the center. It is not big but it is definitively worth a visit, combined with the San Carlo Theater visit.

We visited in the afternoon, from about 2pm, and found that the whole Palace was so quiet it was as though we had booked an exclusive access visit! Although, from the outside, the Palace looks like most other Bourbon-era buildings in Naples, the interior is truly breath-taking! Mainly decorated in the Rococo style, the Palace was built in the 17th... More

The exterior of this complex is nothing much to write home about - vast rather than beautiful, but the interiors are impressive, with lots of brightly coloured fresco-like ceilings or else involving huge amounts of gold leaf. In many respects this is a smaller version of the Caserta Royal Palace in terms of the state rooms to the visited. It's... More

There's a lot to see in Naples. This palace dates to more recent times, so if you are an ancient history buff it might be less interesting. But it's great if you have a few hours and are interested in more recent history (17th C forward). A lot to see and some great art and collections. We did the free... More

The Royal Palace is well worth an entire day visit. Just walking through the front door takes you back in time. The palace walls are uniquely painted, each wing and room have seasonal themes and is place is partly furnished with some art installations. The outside garden is vast and well worth a long walk to the end to look... More
