From the grand marble staircase to the chapel, each and every one of the rooms in this Napoleanic-era palace is a thing of beauty, from the marble floors to the frescoed ceilings. The inlaid wood furnishings and the giant tapestries are particularly interesting, the art is full of Neapolitan scenes that really show you the evolution of the city. I... More

The Palazzo Reale is well worth visiting as it is very good value for money. I would definitely advise getting an audio guide, as the signs are not as informative, though the audio guide is rather comprehensive and you might get a little fed up with it by the end! You are able to look around one complete floor of... More

Interesting to visit although I'd go to Capodimonte and/or Caserta first. More

The visitor layout is confusing. There are very few workers available to advise you on where to go. Maybe we didn't find all the rooms, but what we saw was very limited. I don't believe it's a good value for the money. However, it's hard to resist visiting simply because it is the royal palace! More

Well worth a look at the Palace - even if only for the sheer amount of marble, gold and over the topness - fabulous! Not a huge amount else to see - but it was a lovely walk through the palatial rooms, with some gorgeous views over the bay. More

After touring the Caserta Palace, the Bourbon's palace in northern Naples, I was anxious to see what their downtown palace was like. While smaller and slightly less well maintained on the exterior, the Palazzo Reale was only 4 Euro for entry and an audio guide. We stayed for about 3 hours, touring the second floor apartments and rooms. The signs... More

This is an incredible Bourbon heritage that despite being the most important part of Naples history it´s a bit forsaken. There is dust everywhere you look, from the the amazing clocks (still ticking) to the vessels and "arazzi" (tapestries) most of then dating back to the 17th century. It´s common sense that dust alone can destroy a work of art... More
