Very mystic. Exciting atmosphere. Stunning history. Amazing graves. Very ancient. In Naples it was for me the most interesting excursion which should in no case miss out on your holiday in Naples!

Of course when you are in Naples during the summer time you could never imagine that it could be cold somewhere because you are sweating and feel too hot. At the same time if you plan to visit this attraction be sure to take some warm jacket with you bbecause it is really cold inside and even after the hot... More

I do enjoy a good underground explore. These catacombs are interesting enough to visit though I did feel that I wanted to see more, just as I was getting into it, the tour was over. It did last around 45 minutes so not short by any definition. The guide gave a lot of information including a 'lot' of information about... More

The Catacombs of San Gennaro are ancient underground cemeteries dating from the second century and represent the most important monument of Christianity in Naples. Christians at the time had to bury their deads like this because Christianity was still illegal.

We were shown through this subterranean place of workshop by an English speaking guide who is a member of the co-operative that has restored and preserved this extraordinary place. There are still wall paintings from fifteen hundred years ago.

The precious murals are not well preserved which is a shame as they won't last for many more years. Still worth a visit.

Amazing discovery lots of history. Am underground commercial city could be built there which would do a lot for Naples.

They explain history in a soft and interesting way, with lights and jokes. The pronounciation could be better. They're making, since 2009, a fabulous work.

We were guided through the catacombs by an excellent young Italian guide. His English was very good and he was really informative. The whole place was incredible with some beautiful frescoes. Our guide told us how the catacombs management had been taken over by a young people's co-op and that they were responsible for it's upkeep they not only wanted... More
