Crowded and exciting city

Naples is a lot different than the other parts of Italy. It's more crowded, polluted, chaotic and energetic. You need to explore the streets to feel the lively atmosphere.

Unfortunately, we had only one day in our very busy South of Italy itinerary to spend in this wonderful and warm city. There is so much to see there, if you actually concentrate on the sites and not on garbage and graffiti, though I do understand the feelings of people who were appalled by not too tidy streets. This city... More

You may assume that an Italian city with a governmental pizza authority would have it together. You would be WRONG. The city is a total dump and there is just no getting around it! The hotel staff clearly love their city and are unfazed because we were told that the historical center was beautiful! We squinted our eyes and kept... More

More

I love this place... There is magic in there. You will be able to feel the joy of the people in the streets mixed with musicians and absolutely delicious food (different types of restaurants). The crazy disorder of the city with this magical place makes you feel free and alive!

The building inside and out were beautiful. The craftsmanship that went into places like this are amazing. Only downfall is the graffiti. It's a shame a beautiful place like this has to be tagged all over the place. I guess some people don't care about historic landmarks

Awful, awful, awful!! It wasn't open in the middle of the day on a Wednesday, it was covered in scaffolding and graffiti, and fly tipping had taken place in front of it... In the middle of a piazza in a giant city, really?! Architecturally from the outside it was beautiful but clearly there was no pride or focus on preserving... More

To be honest, I really thought I was going to hate Naples because of all the terrible things written about it and the bad press it receives. I came away feeling I would definitely return here. We stayed in Centro Storico for two nights. It is a crazy, bewildering place when you first arrive and it's mazes of alleys and... More

One the the most interesting city centers in Europe. Full of joy, movement, history, interesting and typical historical points of the city. Allow at least three hours. Convents, churches, pitoresque houses, shops, pedestrian walks, all not to miss. Worth the detour.

Old town as nowhere else in the world. Full of people, mixed with tourists and locals. Dirty streets, garbage and hanging laundry over the streets. The atmosphere is very special. Great pizzerias and cafeterias all over the old town.
