For all the history, architecture, culture and beauty of the area the one thing I will always remember is the graffiti, it is totally endemic, along with the litter and dog mess. Having said that I am glad I visited but someone needs to sort out the mess.

Lots of shops, bars, coffee shops, with people willing to tell you about their city and what areas are best to visit. A trip to the Il Piccolo Museo of Cameos is really worth a visit. to watch how these wonderful Cameos are hand crafted from shells. I enjoyed every minute I spent in this city and can't wait to... I loved the beautiful historic center of Napoli. UNESCO world heritage! But when I got back home, an unpleasent suprise was waiting for me: a ticket for entering the ZTL (zona trafico limitato) without knowing. 85€!!! I just found out that this happens quite often to tourists as it is difficult to read all the information on signs when driving... More

It is packed, it is lively and you need to keep a close eye on your bag or wallet, but it is completely worth the visit. This is the original heart of Naples and it still beats strongly and loudly. Here you will find interesting shops to poke about in, fishmongers selling to the locals and friendly cafes. This is... More

The streets are old, sometimes dirty and narrow, sometimes empty and sometimes very crowded. The best way to to walk around without specific sites in mind to get a feel of the city life. This is not a sophisticated city, unlike Rome of Firenze. This is Southern Italy and the atmosphere is more casual.

Naples is a lot different than the other parts of Italy. It's more crowded, polluted, chaotic and energetic. You need to explore the streets to feel the lively atmosphere.

Unfortunately, we had only one day in our very busy South of Italy itinerary to spend in this wonderful and warm city. There is so much to see there, if you actually concentrate on the sites and not on garbage and graffiti, though I do understand the feelings of people who were appalled by not too tidy streets. This city... More

You may assume that an Italian city with a governmental pizza authority would have it together. You would be WRONG. The city is a total dump and there is just no getting around it! The hotel staff clearly love their city and are unfazed because we were told that the historical center was beautiful! We squinted our eyes and kept... More

More
