Wonderful collection of Pompei art, crafts, afrescos, mosaics. The building is also very imponent, with its own history. Not to miss this essential showing of ancient roman and greek art pieces.

Our main purpose for stopping in Naples was to go to this museum. Having visited Pompeii and been enthralled there we were anxious to see some of the artifacts that were in the museum. We were not disappointed by that display and the others that are in that magnificent museum.

We went to Pompeii first . So we were excited to see what the king of Naples took from the site for "his" museum. While many great items available, our visit was shot earned by over 5 rooms that were closed! That was almost half the museum salons closed.

Loved the items from Pompeii. I recommend anyone going to Pompeii should go to this museum before going out to the site.

We went at 5 pm on a Sunday. IT closes Tuesdays but check this is Italy and there are no sure rules. We only saw 3 other people and had entire halls filled with marble statues to ourselves. The "secret room " is not to be missed.

There are thousands of perfectly preserved artefacts from Pompeii. The mosaics are absolutely beautifully preserved. Fascinating marble sculptures.

We visited the museum to see the artefacts, mosaics and paintings uncovered at Pompeii. Those that were there were quite fabulous, but I was quite disappointed by the fact that quite a few pieces had been removed to show overseas.

This museum has great treasures of ancient times. Massive statues, great pieces of painted walls, but also tiny jewels and tools. Take your time to visit. I had about 3 hours and that wasn't enough.
