It's kind of amazing to see but it's over commercialized and expensive for what you get. Also, too many boats and a lot of yelling. Boatman kept asking for a tip which is not usual for Italy.

I've rated this review as 1 star only because the grotto was closed due to the waves. I'm sure it's beautiful and we were disappointed that we couldn't go in, but apparently you can only access the grotto 1 in 4 days. May pay to check before you head over to Capri if this is a big thing you want...

Everything in Capri is overpriced; however, we went on a boat trip around the island with Laser Capri with a stop at the Blue Grotto. My wife and I were unsure if we wanted to go in because of the price. We ended up going in, it cost 12.50 euro per person and was one of the highlights of our...

We constantly heard about this being a "must do" when we arrived in Capri. Actually we stayed in Anicapri, and this was just at the bottom of the hill from our B&B, so thought OK, hopped on the bus and were there in 10 mins. What a ZOO ! There were nearly 7 Ferries packed to the brim with tourists...

Better to go in lower season such as May or Sept where there is hardly anyone around.

Grotta Azzurra or Blue Grotto was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Took a tour boat (about 30 people) to Capri, we stopped to get in line o get off our boat to go into the Grotta on the small boats. However due to the seas being a little rough, and a few people on the boat getting sick...

We were lucky to get into the Blue Grotto,,, something I have waited for ,, for many years... It was all it was cracked up to be,, in my opinion,, our row boat guy, sang for us,, protected my face from getting scratched when going into the grotto,,,he took our photos of this beautiful blue water that lightened this grotto...

We caught the bus from Capri (the main square) to Anacapri (2euros per person) and then a second bus to the Grotto (another 2euros per person). Then we got in a tiny boat (a dinghy) to enter the cave. Buses on the island are really well organized, cheap, and easy to use.
Lovely views from the bus along the way...

The Blue Grotto is amazing once inside but would definitely try to go with a private boat tour after it closes. We took a private boat tour which is the best way to explore all of the grottos but you still have to pay during the day. It cost 12.50 euros to get inside a little canoe and have some...

I found out only about 30% of those wishing to go to the Blue Grotto actually get to enter and see the spectacle. We were lucky and got in, after a long wait but we did make it. This is very dependent on the tides and the weather.
You go to the Blue Grotto on a boat out of Capri...
