This is an unmissable part of the trip. The scenery and culture of Italy is magnificent. Coast views spectacular. Best views on a boat trip.

I was scared after reading many reviews but I decided to go through with the drive anyway, and I certainly did not regret it. Yes, everything on the reviews are true, but if you survive to tell this tale, you will have one of the most beautiful stories to tell as well as pictures to go with it! Driving a... More

This drive is a must if you are not scared of dying. From what I could see between my fingers, the Amalfi Coast is truly stunning. My other half helpfully pointed out the particularly beautiful vistas, but I could barely hear through the screaming and realisation that it was me doing the screaming! The road is a true coast road,... More

Took a tour bus along the coastline for ten euro, and I've never experienced such beautiful coastal scenery as this. The drivers are skilled at what they do,and felt safe. PLUS the towns we passed Through were well policed. Amalfi is such a special place, can't wait to return.

just be sure you go on sunny day to enhance the experience. you can hire a car but the road is narrow and has many windings, plus the italian drivers are crazy.... we went by public bus from sorrento snd visited positano, amalfi and ravello. positano was by far the best and the most fun with it's beautiful houses and... Just imagine you are on Top Gear and driving a supercar at high speed! No, no, no!! It's exactly the opposite of this! You drive at an average of 15 - 25 km/hour and squeeze between illegally parked cars, endless busses, the odd truck, racing cyclists training for the tour de France, motor scooters and serious bikers. Plus the carefree... More

Amazing for those appreciating sights. I would suggest to drive unconventionally from Salerno to Sorrento. This is less touristy direction. However staying a moment in a traffic isn´t that bad also, because you have the views. Be careful though, as you know driving in Italy ;)

Went on a Thomson's excursion from Sorrento, which included a lunch, they could not have chosen a cheaper lunch fo us if they tried, we would have prefered more time in Amalfi and chosen where and what to eat. Another Thomson Trick is to get you to Alalfi and state that the boat trip is an extra cost. The boat trip... More
