To take it a month after taking the beautiful drive along another incredible one along the southern Oregon and Northern California was a rare chance to experience the best of both worlds in the old and new worlds. The panoramic views around every turn were more beautiful than the last as we wound through beautiful little villages. Spectacular is an... More

A bit scary in parts but a must do!!! Last year I did the Amalfi Coast by boat, this year by coach. From start to finish the views are breathtaking.and even better it was free!!! Just the way it turned out on our trip to Herculaneum and the coach picked up and dropped off at certain points from Salerno all... More

We went on the public bus from Sorrento Railway station intending to go only to Positano. As we had seats on the coast side in a packed bus decided to go on to Amalfi. The bus was actually very modern and quite comfortable for those of us seated. We were able to get on early enough for coast side seats... More

did it today again since two years, no surprise all the beautiful places are still there and look great. Same winding narrow road where you need to be extra careful in the summer because all park on the road making it even narrower than it actually is. Tips: - always best to go sorrento - salerno and not the other... More

This is one of the best drives in Italy. We did the tour by local bus, which you can get in Sorento. Take a seat on the right side of the bus for the best views. Every corner is a beautiful view so keep your camera ready. Driving th route your self takes a lot of nerve as it is... More

One of the most beautiful scenes you will ever see. The tour and county buses go down this road. If you start in Sorento make sure you get on the right hand side of the bus as that is the best viewing side on the way down. The county buses go both ways as most tour buses are only allowed... More

As in our case, we did this detour (Salerno - Amalfi - Positano) on our way to Sorrento. Happy we did it - really cute views, towns, and some adrenaline. Good to know the dimensions of the car you are driving, and have them under constant control, especially when meeting a bus on a narrow road on a sharp curve,... More

The Amalfi coast drive is not for the feint of heart. I would definitely not drive it, but my husband enjoyed the winding curves and the single lanes. The driver has to be always on the look out for oncoming buses or scooters as there is usually not enough room for everyone. My husband had his window open and the... More

What an experience!!!! Simply breathtaking!! Now, my husband and I were a bit adventurous and rented a scooter to do this drive!!! OMG!!! Well, needless to say, we were so scared as the roads are continuously winding, narrow and single lane either way!!! Not always a chance to pull over, either! The views and the air was something we will... More

We took an organised trip along the Amalfi coast road and I can really understand why the driver's have to have a special licence to drive around the sharp, tight, awkward hair pin bends with over hanging roads looking down at the pure crystal waters. It is truly breath taking!! Amalfi is a beach resort but it was the Cathedral... More
