Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our recent cycling tour which you put together. It was fantastico! A great way to see real italy at work, with back roads, all the different agricultural enterprises, and small villages. Certainly you are much more involved, than touring by car, and choosing the occasional place to stop. A masterstroke to pair... More

We booked the two-hour walking of Matera through Booking.com. Our guide Dora was exceptional in her knowledge of the history of Matera. Her English was very good and her passion for the history of the Sassi was clearly demonstrated. An added factor which made it all the more real was that her parents & parents-in-law were born here. Although it... More

Ferrule Viaggi's Michele and Dora developed a six day tour for us to visit our relatives in Basicilata. They did an exceptional job in finding family, accommodations, tours of the area. They accompanied us on three days. Dora was the translator for our family visits. They also gave us a detailed history and sociology perspective of the area. They receive... More

We booked a half day cooking class in a Cave Restaurant in Matera and It was fantastic - one of the highlights of out Italy trip. We spent some time at the local market with the chef Sara to get ingredients for our dishes. We had about 3hrs preparing local dishes under the guidance of Sara. Sara and her staff... More

My wife and adult son and I were in Matera the day before our bike tour and booked a private walking tour of the sassi (cave houses). The tour was truly excellent. Cosimo was our guide and his knowledge of and passion for the history of Matera was evident throughout. He really brought to life the unique history of the... More

Dora Cappiello is a walking history book of Matera and the entire area. Her manner is easy and comfortable and exceedingly knowledgeable! We really got a true sense of so much of the history of Matera and saw by car as well as walking so much of the area. She and her husband also did some family research for us... More

We did the Matera walking tour with our guide Dora Cappiello. Wonderful lady with excellent english skills. She escorted us to all the wonderful sights of Matera, which is small enough and relatively easily to experience by foot.

Matera left us (my two sister and I) breathless - not from walking the hills - but the great beauty of the city. The stone buildings, walks and road ways, the mountains of homes, the cave museum and our wonderful Hotel Sassi. Dora, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about her city. Our visit to Matera was part of our... More

We booked our tour to include a visit to Matera and our ancestors village of Avigliano. Our guide was Dora. She was so knowledgeable about her hometown of Matera. We, my two sisters and I were treated to such wonderful sights and experiences. I can't say enough about how fascinating the Sassi area was. It was a trip of a... More

Anne led us on an individual and very enjoyable walking tour of Matera. She was very informative and pleasant company. Her English is excellent. We are pleased to recommend her. Comfortable shoes are a good idea in this hilly town. We'd also suggest reading "Christ stopped an Eboli" which will give you some insight into this ancient town.
