If you are a tourist and visiting the big market please remember to do Three things : 1. Don't be stupid and stand there with your cameras and iPhones gawking and taking pictures. It blocks traffic, pisses off the locals and you look moronic . Quickly snap your photo and move!! 2. Buy something for God sake . This market... More

This market is not only a peace of a great architecture but also a great place to buy local food. I was impresed by all the food there - everything looks soo fresh, meat, fish, fruit...njami. I could spend there all day. It is interesting to see elderly locals buying there and that is how you know food there is... More

If you lived here it would be a good place to buy food...otherwise, there isn't much more than that...clean and the building has interesting architecture and a great history...just not what it was built up to be!

This is by far the best covered market we have visited in Europe. The range of produce is outstanding, to vendors enthusiastic about their products and the prices good. We bought the smallest leg of milk fed lamb imaginable, large succulent prawns and langoustines, some delicious pastries and took them back to our apartment for one of the best meals... More

Only a block or so from the cathedral, you can't miss this foodie's paradise. It's the largest market of its kind in Europe, which puts Valencia on the destination map for many people. This place is absolutely huge, with every Spanish food stuff you could want, from fresh fruits and vegetables (I have long lost cousins with a stand there:... More

To check out the local meats and other offerings it has on display. Also definitely try the local nut based drink (forgot the name of it, sorry).

Ploughed my way here at around 10am, I was very worried I would be caught up,in he millions of summer tourists... Happily I was one of the early ones. As always the earlier the better and definitely for this place! Everything about this market was amazing, the food, the selection, the prices! It is well set out, I worked in... More

It's only merit is cleanliness. Not photo worthy and nothing you can't buy at a smaller corner store (such as fresh fruit) We'd planned to supply ourselves for a picnic, but ended up at a grocery for better value. There is 1 or 2 places to sit at a bar for coffee and breakfast or lunch, but why bother ?... More

The phenomena of revived central markets is personified in this beautiful open structure covered in Spanish tile. It's the early morn energy full of locals and shiny hams that charmed me the most.
